No edit button

Post by Getmad24_7 » Mon May 28, 2012 4:28 pm

Hi, I don't have any kind of edit option on my post. I read that it is a problem that does come up and that I should just post a thread here about it, so that's what I'm doing :) Thanks a ton!

That's strange, but I guess not being able to edit my posts will help me get to 50 that much faster hahah.

It may be a feature the Moderators need to manually turn on for you.
If you send one of them a polite note and then wait patiently, you should be all good soon ;)

We had to turn off editing for newly registered members thanks to "clever" spammers signing up, making a couple random posts, then going back once the thread had died and stuffing them full of links to garbage. :fp:

Post editing goes with the guitar shop access PAT# usergroup. Send a request to have Guitar Shop access turned on and post editing will come with it. There are posts at the top any of the sound board forums explaining how to request access to the Guitar Shop section.

Instead of offering features based on post number you should consider having paid benefits. It would bring in money and fix the post padding issue. I would gladly pay $20 a year rather for extra benefits.

I appreciate the offer, as I'm sure all the modmins do. But the reality is that OSG isn't a business and we don't want to turn it into a business. So in order to keep the site free, and free from adverts and other bologna that business forums inundate users with, we've decided the posting requirement is the best alternative.
