No, I'm not sure what the original color was -- maybe sunburst.

The Fender Custom Colors and the Gibson Colors were equivalent - they used the same/similar Duco paint codes, actually.
The chart below is a good illustration of the matchups (scroll about halfway down):

BTW  - I'm also a HUGE fan of big ol' metalflake!

I love it!  Great name.

Actually, it's not a Strat - it's a Hamer Daytona that I had routed for 'Trons and had my good pal Stike flake it out.  Shame that the picture doesn't do it justice.  I'll have to get some live shots this week.

It's now actually called Bordeaux Sparkle.  I just received Meadowbrook Inventions new Catalog.

Bordeaux Sparkle - now that sounds fancy!  :)

Now that I think about it I should have said NOLA-guar, but NOLAmaster rolls off the tongue a bit better.

about a year and a half ago guitargai had up on ebay a merlot colored jaguar with mint pickguard and just a hint of metal flake, non-matching headstock. i haven't seen one like it since.

anyone here remember that one?
