I wanted one of these when the first batch came out in 2008. They rarely seemed to come up for sale. I think they announced the second batch after I bought my 65 OTM Thin Skin. I would have preferred a 59. Happy NGD

Wow, the grain on that body looks amazing. Really pops under the trans white finish. Congrats!

Dream Jazzmaster. I've got the 60th anniversary in the two tone so it's extremely similar but Blond is the cat's pajamas.
Personally I'd source a Staytrem or a Marr bridge to keep the aesthetic. The new Descendant bridge looks to be amazing too.

Is that the one with the tall Frets? I almost bought one as it is a beautiful Guitar but couldn’t handle the Frets....

In any case Congrats on your NGD & Enjoy!
Yeah, I think these are the tall frets, 6105s? Def a bit of a change from vintage models but I had em on a partcaster and really liked em so it's worked out so far. Just need to get this set up right with the Mastery.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand the appeal of the mastery bridge. I can grab a staytrem that is in line with the aesthetics and functionality, but the mastery... the only good thing it has is the lowered rear lip to avoid string contact. Other than that it looks wrong and operates ever “wrongier”.
I mean, you purchased what is probably my favorite JM, the finish is awesome, the guard is astonishing, the fretboard looks the part for one... please don’t fit it with a futuristic looking wrongly engineered piece of metal. Pleeeeeease :P

Hahaha I hear ya, it's only because I happen to have a Mastery on hand that I had on a parts guitar previously. Wasn't informed by any particular preference. I forgot that Staytrem is shipping to the US again, I actually may try to kit it out with a staytrem instead. Switching from the original bridge to the Mastery is super noticeable too, and I'm not sure I prefer it so I may do the Staytrem. I had one previously on a '66 Jag that I really enjoyed the sound/feel of. We'll see I guess

Now it just needs the buzz stop installed :D Honestly, I like the Mastery and the traditional bridge on a JM. It's a matter of personal preference and playing style.

Anybody have any clue where I can get some strat/early jazzmaster knobs for a solid shaft pot? Tried the strat knobs I have on hand and they don't fit/won't stay in place since they're solid shaft. Not a huge fan of the tele knobs on this, and I figured it would be easier to find something since the previous reissues had strat knobs. Did those previous reissues have split shaft knobs?

I haven't found strat knobs with a set screw for solid-shaft pots. You could probably wrap some tape on the shafts and make them work. Could also drill and tap for a small set screw. Last, you could replace with split shaft pots, but that doesn't seem worth the trouble. I'm curious which knobs this model shipped with originally.

You could try the Fender white witch hat knobs...That's what I have on mine...25.00 if you shop around but most are 30.00
