weird. I've used strap locks for the last couple of years and really enjoyed using them. I just find them much easier and more practical. I'd assumed everyone else was the same. how wrong I was!

I've tried Schallers and Dunlops, and really do prefer the Dunlop Dual Design straplocks.  I have them on all my guitars, no problems ever.

they haven't failed me yet.

I've got a DiMarzio strap on my Tele and its a dream, it also looks pretty swanky as well i think. Its also good to be able to unclip the strap if you want to just sit and play with it on your lap, or to fit it into a case. Seems pretty solid, never had any problems with it. Been considering getting one for my JM simply because i'm starting to get some scary moments where i tilt the head up and the strap comes undone. I would prefer someone just design a straplock that you can just stick over the end of the peg mind, like those cheap plastic dunlop ones, except not crap and ugly.

I have schallers on all my guitars/basses except my Sadowsky P Bass which came with Dunlop.  I much prefer Schaller's.

I like to make sounds with my Schallers. Some OD & delay on, pull the lock knob and then release it. Wonderful sound!

+1.  I have Schallers on my Ric 4003 because that's what it came with, but I really prefer the Dunlop dual design.

Inexpensive, functional and two free beers with every set.
Never had a failure in many, many years.
The red goes nicely with my Dakota Red Jazzmaster, as well.

I'd like to point out that the rubber things are not only used on Grolsch bottles, so if you have better taste there may be other options.

+1! I used Schaller security locks and always had problems... now I use red washers for my fiesta red jag, and for my ocean turquoise Jag, I found  blue washers on german beer bottles!
