Sonic gray Am Pro JM project (finished pg. 2)
I found a screaming deal on a sonic gray Am Pro JM body from Stratosphere. I'm planning to route it for proper JM controls and the rhythm circuit. I'll be using an all maple neck from Warmoth and I've got this mint gray powdercoated pickguard. Here's a quick mock-up with the parts I have today. I'm really excited about this color combo.

That looks great. I was watching those, too. I didn't go for it because Stratosphere wouldn't give me a weight, as they are unused bodies – never assembled – still in boxes. Did you happen to weigh yours?

What a great colour combo.
Part of me wants to see this with an aluminum neck.

Just weighed it. 4.48lbs. It will get a bit lighter after the additional control cavity routing is done.Professor Bill wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 12:22 pmThat looks great. I was watching those, too. Read the thread title and thought "That sounds 'orrible". I stand corrected.

I love this. As someone with a lingering love for battleship grey and similar hues, this ticks a lot of boxes. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thank for all the positive comments! I found someone to route the JM control cavities. The long pole is going to be the neck from Warmoth. It's still probably 2 months out.
I'll post more pics as other parts progress.

This looks amazing!
I'm with Mike on this – an aluminum neck would complete the look! (But I adore all maple necks too)
