goddamnit this thing is gorgeous and basically exactly what i've been looking on the used market for - a Fender Japan HH Jazzmaster.

If it was black or white I might try and figure out a way to get a hold of one

That's basically the OG Lee Ranaldo Jazzblaster, without pickup rings and without the stripped-down electronics :

(and with worse tort, but who cares about tort here :D )
Well, apparently Lee Ranaldo thinks so too, as he has commented on my article (if it is him that is...)

Ha, nice one. I seem to recall Lee posting on alt.music.sonic-youth from time to time a LONG time ago (90s), seems like he's still happy to engage online.

At least that looks exactly like how I would expect Lee Ranaldo to write comment posts :D

For sure, sounds like him 100% - particularly 'gtr'.

He was cool when I met him as a kid and the band all signed my Death Valley EP, so I reckon he will still be a likeable person today.

Woah, when did Fender start making CuNiFe WRHB's again? I missed that. I bought a '79 Tele Deluxe about two years ago and really didn't bond with it due to the weight, but was hesitant to resell due to the lack of CuNiFe pickups. May put it up on Reverb or something knowing these are more readily available now.

That Japanese Jazzblaster looks great (though I'd prefer an amber tint to the neck). That's a VERY attractive looking guitar. I'd definitely sell the Tele Deluxe for one of these.

Ron Thorn accidentally posted ´em on his Instagram account in the fall of 2020 if I recall correctly and quickly removed the post. They've been around since this year for sure at 199 USD/EUR/GBP a piece. Come standard on the AO70s Tele in the neck!

This looks amazing. How much would you pay for this if it were imported to the US?

EDIT: I looked into it and it’s out of budget or not justifiable for my situation, more than AV65’s and AVRI’s go for these days.

Come on now, am I the only one around here that got one of these?

I will try to get a proper review for OSG, but in the meantime grab a sneak peek and clip on my IG:

Beautiful. Man, this is the offset guitarists dream. Correct size blocks and everything. Is it a 7.25 radius? Wish American and Mexican Fender could get this right.

Def a dream for me.
It’s got 9.5” actually. And I’m here for it.
I’ve since replaced the stock bridge/trem with Mastery.
Suits me much better

Can I be so rude as to ask what it cost you, shipping and customs and all?
