Re: Sweet spot for Jazzmasters?
I was once tricked into playing drums for a church-related group.
Also +1 to buying an AVRI or AV65.
EDIT: Also, welcome to the forum. 'Bugger off back to TGP' is not the traditional welcome here.

Re: Sweet spot for Jazzmasters?
I tried several before I finally decided & bought an Olympic White AV65 Jazzmaster..
A close second was the Lacquer 60’s JM…
If you can find either they are xlnt choices for a traditional Jazzmaster…

Weird energy in here.
Should we have an FAQ section?
It's like you gain the offset knowledge through osmosis if you're a regular here for long enough. So it's almost jarring when a noob comes in and just straight askes.
Again. Weird energy.
Now, if you'll excuse me, time to crank the t@nz on my overdrive special. Got a praise jamboree this weekend and I wanna have my cover of "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" in tip top shape.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Oh god no.
I don't know what's worse. The TGP Bonamassa nerds and SS.org Kurt Fanbois are both equally insufferable

I like the long scale & short scale on my Oly White AV65 JM & CAR AV65 Jag… Both are fun to play!
What’s the weird vibe? Guy asks question, guys answer question & give opinions.. What am I missing?

Head back to page one. There was some tongue in cheek attempts at humor about broader OSG culture that went a bit sideways.
It's all Gucci though.

Somebodies not a fan of the Gear Page… Not a big deal, but pretty rude Welcome to a new Guy… Not the norm. But, it Could make one wonder what kind Forum this is? Truth is, for most Forums you need to be thick skinned & sometimes have to tell people…. Well, you know what….seenoevil II wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 7:42 amHead back to page one. Thanks so much! (To you and the others who provided a warm welcome). I thought it would be polite to wait for my second thread before I started telling people to F*#K off!Larsongs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:27 amSomebodies not a fan of the Gear Page… Not a big deal, but pretty rude Welcome to a new Guy… Not the norm. The guy who was rude at the start... he's new too - he doesn't speak for anyone but himselfMaker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:51 amThanks so much! (To you and the others who provided a warm welcome). This really is a welcoming forum but it is the internet so it has just the right mix of sarcasm, arrogance, intelligence, integrity, & fellowship., No one really listens to you if you tell the to fuck off. You need to have valid points & people will argue with you for days! Welcome!Maker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:51 amThanks so much! (To you and the others who provided a warm welcome). I mostly gravitate back to the poly finished ones because they're easier to take care of. The necks don't get sticky, and you don't have to worry about the paint melting off if you don't wipe them down, or thermal shock.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Re: Sweet spot for Jazzmasters?
From all the responses here and from reading a ton of other posts, I think I probably can't go wrong with an AV65, AVRI 62, or an AO. Thank you all for the input, personal experience, and for the helpful clarifications.
However, I think I will try to acquire an AV65 as my first choice, but not be too fixated, and if an AVRI62 or AO come available at a good price point, will pivot in that direction.
A white body with white headstock and white binding might be calling to me

This certainly wouldn't upset me.
