Dang. These look so lovely. Owing to availability, I went down a slightly different tunnel.

Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
Oh man thanks, flipping the bridge really did help quite a lot. I noticed the low E saddle is cut wider than the others, btw, so I changed sides, too.Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 1:42 amI flipped the bridge on mine, so the saddle screws faced the neck. That allowed me to intonate the low e string. Shimming the neck will cure the buzz and .095 gauge strings will help, too.
Ordered a Staytrem today, too.
It plays good in normal E tuning, but can't go lower, as I usually do. Oh well. New strings, then, too...

Thanks, will order me some when they're back in stock, and report back!Zork wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:32 amI can't recommen these strings enough: very good tension (you can even droptune the low e), good balance, very reliable and fantastic tone: https://newtonestrings.com/shop/axion-c ... er-vi-set/
The trick is that they use a much thicker core on the e and a strings, so they get a stronger tension without having ridiculous thick strings. Works perfectly. Also the intonation is easy to get right with the existing range of the stock bridge. I think I have none of the saddles maxed out by any means.

I think they are made to order and they don't stock them at all. If you order now you can expect one or two weeks delivery time.Pacafeliz wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 2:55 amThanks, will order me some when they're back in stock, and report back!Zork wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:32 amI can't recommen these strings enough: very good tension (you can even droptune the low e), good balance, very reliable and fantastic tone: https://newtonestrings.com/shop/axion-c ... er-vi-set/

Does anyone here know if you can put a 27 inch baritone neck on a bass vi? like would it be doable without throwing intonation off or having to drastically move the bridge? I love the bass vi but would love the shorter scale and baritone gauges on it too.

No, absolutely not. It won’t work in a million years, Burt you can put a baritone conversion neck on a CV Jazzmaster.fuzzy_man_peach wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 7:13 amDoes anyone here know if you can put a 27 inch baritone neck on a bass vi? like would it be doable without throwing intonation off or having to drastically move the bridge? Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
I finally put the labella flats on my CV past weekend and I remembered this post.
I like flats on guitars, and was fully expecting to be blown away, but wow this are not my cup of tea on the vi…
they feel great as flats always do but I’m really not loving the tones. The the bass is set up, shimmed, avri trem, upgraded pickups/pots/switches/wiring, with a Staytrem bridge… so it’s not an issue with another part of the instrument.
I might try the Newtone strings suggested as well.
