They are pretty awesome guitars. I got mine from CME but it looks like the exact same thing. I oiled up the fretboard and then dropped in a jazzblaster pickguard.

Did you need to do any routing of the pickup cavities to drop those WRHB pickups in it?

I hate the square block at the headstock. The rest are okay, but that square one bugs me. It should be a slight rectangle. The distance from the edges bugs me far less. I hate that square man, and it hates me back. I also believe myself to be an undiagnosed autistic with OCD tendencies.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 6:33 pmI see that comment all the time around here. I don't understand what's wrong with the blocks, or why it's such a deal-breaker for many people who seem to want at least a bound neck, if not bound with blocks...

I did my first order form Andertons a few weeks ago it was a super smooth and easy process. Total price was actually less than the similar FSRs of this model from US retailers.whatisdust wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 11:49 pmI hope someone does these on this side of the pond, maybe CME? I really like the LPB Jazzmaster!

I did not route the body but....barrycreed wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 11:20 amooooo, tell me more about the jazzblaster pickguard! What about the routing/string spacing v pickups etc. It look awesome!
I got a conversion jazzblaster pickguard that had the neck pickup moved towards the bridge to accomodate WRHBs with standard JM routes. That said, I did not anticipate that the WRHBs and their mounting screws would require a deeper pickup pocket. So, I took out the dremel and cut off the extra screw length below the pickup. This got the guitar assembled and the bridge pickup was at about the right height. The neck was still too high so I used the adjustable pole pieces to move the magnetic field further from the strings. Not going to lie, it's a bit hacky.
Here's the reverb shop I got the pickguard from. Send him a message if you want a pickguard like I used here.

That olive green Jazzblaster looks great !
But some people want blocks of the good size and some want real Jazzblaster pickguard , with no Rythm circuit, only one volume pot and no tone pot :-p .

For me, there is something really cool about correct Fender blocks. Warmouth seems to only do Gibson-style blocks and it really bugs the hell out of me.
In the past ten years or so Fender and Squier have been releasing more and more B&B necks, but when the measurements fail to live up to this golden block measurement ratio that exists in my head they might as well just be dots.
Obviously a lot more people prefer dots and the classic looks. B&B is a niche fan base, so it’s not like as many people will freak out about these types of details like they do with all the Pre-CBS guitars. I suspect most people who like blocks don’t give a shit, and that’s cool by me— seriously. But the small group of us ‘correct’ block types… we just can kinda tell. I’m willing to give a few millimeters here and there, but after that I’m out.
I wasn't criticizing anyone for their opinion, just truly wasn't sure what was wrong/different about them from a technical standpoint. I can see what you guys are referring to now. Thanks!DeathJag wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 11:30 amI hate the square block at the headstock. The rest are okay, but that square one bugs me. It should be a slight rectangle. I most certainly didn't think you were criticizing anyone. It's one of those random details that a small number of people dial into. Aesthetics are weird.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 6:43 amI wasn't criticizing anyone for their opinion, just truly wasn't sure what was wrong/different about them from a technical standpoint. Good to know! Glad you didn't mis-read what I was saying. I totally get the feeling of liking or disliking something based on aesthetics.Jaguar018 wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 7:08 amI most certainly didn't think you were criticizing anyone. They had me with Bass VI, and again with Shell Pink, and topped it off with matching headstock. Preordered. Hopefully it’ll arrive within my lifetime—at my age every time I wake up it’s such a pleasant surprise.
Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

Lets hope the QC will be improved on since the last FSR run. I've seen some utter horrors in the last week or so from the latest batch of Squiers.
I was chatting to Lord Fuzzman who had one of the sparkle Jags that the frets looked like they'd been shot at with a 12-bore

Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?
