In what world can a stoptail be described as “dynamic”?
That’s marketing and then some

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

That's the one from the Gibberd Mustang, I think - it's just come up in another thread.
So that isn't a blemished guitar - it's been modified (so it's second hand....?)

it's too bad, because I really like the playability of the neck. Now the question is, do I just get another one like it, or wait for the Purple burst??!!!
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

That sucks! I had accidently bought one of those a few more ago. I can imagine finding one installed on the new guitar must be pretty disappointing.

It looks to me like the skeleton of the proper tremolo is there... you just need the springs/moveable parts.
I'd be tempted to buy a cheap trem from amazon or ebay and then use what you need.

the vibratos that work have longer posts to attach the springs. This just has "stubs". I don't see any thing that would hold the springs on.

If you unbolt the cigar (those studs look to have hex heads in them), are the holes cut with chamfered knife-edges? If so, you could get a cheap trem, take the posts and springs off that (and possibly the cigar if yours has a different thread), and you could be on to a winner.
Edited to add image - the posts in the cigar screw out - they may then screw in to your unit.

You could probably take those posts off of the unbransed tremolo as well.
The only issue could be that there is a screw or something that is threaded differently, but then again maybe not.
worse case scenario is you take it all apart and use the fender stamped faceplate off yours and everything else from the unbranded one.

The pic I pulled was from a $30 CDN one on Amazon. That’s like $25 USD.

I've done the opposite a few times--turned a "normal" Dynamic vibrato into a hardtail--using disparate parts from different places.
The cheapo Dynamic vibratos on Amazon/eBay/etc. are almost always of Asian origin, so they're metric threaded. Mexican parts are (typically) also metric, but they often don't use the exact same thread pitch as the Asian import parts. In that case, as stated earlier, you'll just have to use all of the parts from the new tailpiece and transplant them to the Gibbard plate.
Of everything, the plate is the most important anyway since the knife edge is the key to making this all work smoothly. The MIM plate is sure to be better quality than the Asian one.
