Are the Jags in any risk of being discontinued?

Marr Les Paul
For those in the UK who may be interested.. I’m sure it will cost a pretty penny but at least it’s for a good cause.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
Back on the JMJ tip, I just caved and bought one off Reverb.
I kept playing them in shops and telling myself the neck was too thick and it would probably be too noisy in my RFI-infested studio.
Even built a beautiful Rexter Aztec silver partscaster with Kinmans to bypass the neck/noise issues.
But the real thing sounds very different. And very nice.
And the neck is actually fine. With only a little bit of low level buzz.
So now I have to dive back into why my Kinman Jag sounds so different (which is a very deep dark rabbit hole I’d just struggled out of). In a slightly demented way, this Marr Jag is a way of proving what my Silver one “should” sound like.
No more partscasters for me.

We could have a separate thread in the non offest guitar related sub forum as It could be source for further discussion.( and keep things tidy in here

Guitar World said 20 examples will be made. That's a VERY limited run and barely worth discussion.frank grimez wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 4:26 pmMarr Les Paul

Gibson also did a one off Queen is Dead/Oasis Lester for charity recently. Now they just need the Ric and the Tele.

It is very interesting to me that he used a Les Paul for a big part of his recording and live career. I agree that such a limited run will not be something that everyday people will have the chance of trying or even buying.atomicwash wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 9:53 amGuitar World said 20 examples will be made. I sent that to the wife since she's a huge Smiths fan. I couldn't find a price for the guitars (which I imagine is yuge) and asked the half of this wedded couple with a doctorate if her husband was just being a blind idiot. She couldn't either.muffonrat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 1:58 amIt is very interesting to me that he used a Les Paul for a big part of his recording and live career. So... Knowing that these guitars are also attached to a cancer charity, are they going to be auctioned? In that case, I hope some whales bid on them and the charity gets tons of money.
Also, have you picked up Marr's Guitars or watched the episode of That Pedal Show where Mick and Dan get to check out a bunch of his collection? He talks about the LP in that.

I mean if the funds from the purchase of the guitar go to charity would that technically be a tax write off? Hmmm
