excellent...change the tires, give it an oil change...change the air filter and also replace the old brakepads...you should be good to go!

Since there are a lot of purists out there, I'll pose this question... Is it too much of an abomination to put a vintage neck on a brand spanking new 2006 Japanese JM?

no that's upgrading.. hopefully with the intent of matching it back up with correct parts later

adding an after market neck to a vintage guitar is downgrading
