You could probably just cut it from a sheet of foam. Ia it the same as normal foam?

Re: mute foam

At the risk of introducing a serious note, isn't it the same as the foam used under Jazz bass pups, or JM pups?
I got mine from GPR, but I think you can also get it from hardware stores as weatherstripping.

It's the same structure, but it's much thinner. It would be hard to pare down, as you would have to trim the depth, not the width or length (if that makes any sense). Still, a hardware store might have something similar.sn't it the same as the foam used under Jazz bass pups, or JM pups?
I know GPR has it, but I don't know their shipping policies though.

Re: mute foam
GPR are pretty good on the postage thing.... standard US$5.95 for all international shipping.
That's less than what it would cost me in phone bills and petrol if I was to search around melbourne looking for items.

Re: mute foam
My local Lowes hardware store has boatloads of this stuff in a variety of widths, heights, and spongyness. And it's like $2 - $3 for about 6 feet. Don't order this stuff from GPR.

Re: mute foam
I wonder if you can use the cork roadbed that model railroaders use under the tracks in their layouts?
It might not deteriorate like the original stuff. I remember on my 66 when I got it in 89 the stuff was pretty ratty by then and I scraped it off since it was no good by then.
