Anyway, how deep are the scratches? Would they just not polish out?
The scratches are only on the surface. How would you polish them out?

Thanks for your help! I found a good article explaining the tremolo and the lock:
http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/2007/05/ ... lo-system/

Unfortunately mine seems not to be set up properly because I can still move the tremolo arm with the lock engaged.

On the bottom of the guitar it seems that something has destroyed the nitrocellulose lacquer. Something (I guess it was because of some sort of tape) removed the upper yellowish layer and a more white layer appears.
Is there a way to keep it from spreading any further and getting rid of that sticky feeling?

Looks like it might have been a reaction to the rubber on a stand. Nitro is notorious for reacting to guitar stands. I always place a cloth over my stand before placing a nitro finished guitar on there.

You might be right. I use some cotton over my stands too.
Is there a way to prevent this from getting worse? The lacke at that area feels kind of sticky...
Do you know if I can use some wax to polish the headstock?

I have those marks on mine, same spot. It's the guitar strap that's caused it.

Thanks for sharing! That makes even more sense.
What kind of strap did you use? Do you think a cotton strap will be better than leather?

Has anyone tightened the trem-adjustment screw? My tremolo lock is useless at the moment and I want to fix that.

Also my pickup switch tip is either too loose or too close to the body so I can only switch between two of the four positions. :(
Anyone having the same problem?

Thanks!

Finally got mine! Olympic White. Ordered KO, but they sent white by mistake. Totally okay with it. Now here's the thing, I already want another. What say you? KO or Sherwood Green? I'm selling other gear that I just feel like I won't play anymore.

Btw, this was a painful search. I went through every guitar in the music chain trying to find my next. My main was a 72 MIM tele deluxe RI. I didn't like the LP (too heavy, sound too heavy), SG wasn't right. I even bought a Fiesta Red 60s jag, but it must have been defective because the saddles kept falling.

Anyway, this is it. Should have just trusted the dude who made so many songs I knew by heart growing up.

As someone whose two main guitars are Oly White and CAR AV/AVRI Jaguars, I'd recommend going for the same color combination and pairing your new #1 with Faded KO. It doesn't get much hotter than red and white Jags standing next to each other with an amp in between.

Congrats, btw! I played the Marrguar at my local shop and loved it. It wasn't enough to tempt me away from my AV65, but it was every bit as good in its own way.

Congrats to your guitar! I personally would prefer sherwood green

Does your tremolo lock work properly and is your switch tip tight
?
I hope O Drones gets back to us and tells what kind of strap caused the lacquer problem on his guitar.

Yep, 2 days old and got a the littlest round chip in an odd spot. Just like a popped bubble or something. I'm not really too upset, it sounds too good to worry and I bought it to play it. Relic'd while you play, I guess. If it chips a lot, I might ask about the warranty, or maybe it will just be charming.

Is yours a 2015 audiopablo? I'm wondering if those paint issues had been solved by now?

Can someone catch me up to speed, I purchased the Marr in Sherwood Green back when it first came out and recall it being released in a limited number.
Did that change at some point and become a main-stay colour option or remain limited?
More the merrier tbh but just curious ;)

I'll have to check mine later where the strap meets the paint.
I just use the thin leather one it came with, for lack of another option.

How can I tell the year on it? I bought it new from Sam Ash. Usually the serials start with a 15, but this starts with a V201 or something.

Thanks,

Paul

I am curious what you are going to write!
I was planing to use a Levys MSSC8 strap wich is made of suede where it touches the guitar.

Does your tremolo lock work properly and is your switch tip tight? :)

Strap has left zero marks on paint.

I've never even thought about the tremolo lock before...on this or my jazzmaster...
I always thought it was in the unlock position on both as I do bend occasionally.
It appears as if the lock on the Marr has no effect on bending, either position doesn't appear to lock anything.
With my lack of knowledge of this feature...I'm going to assume one position keeps the whammy bar open while the other is locked unable to move at all? I should know these things lol
Is the lock on when the button is closer to the bridge? That's it's usual position, though again, pushed it back and sound wise, ability wise...the whammy bar acted the same.

Which reminds me I've got to get on here and ask about the two upper switches later on, to clear something up for me.

Switch tip is not loose. Then I realised it wasn't a screw on one lol. Came off easy, so not tight.

Ok. When looking down at your Marr with it strapped on...
I'm fine with the upper-left switch and what it does. When it's down it's on. And I tend to keep it there, love it.
The other switch, upper to the right. Which position is 'on'? And in the on position is it cutting out some high frequencies or boosting them?
I can hear the difference in sound just not sure which is classed as on lol

The lock is off when the button is closer to the bridge. In this position you should be able to move the tremolo up and down. When the lock is engaged (i.e. button away from the bridge) you should only be able to push down on the tremolo but not pull up.

There's a good guide to how it works here: http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/2007/05/ ... lo-system/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
