I like those features. I'd get the Jag, add floating bridge, Bigsby and Surf 90s.

Personally, I find nothing wrong with the Strat jackplate. Maybe that's just me haha. I really like the look of these guys though, maybe replace the tuners and pups and you'd have yourself a proper guitar right there.

As far as mods go, I could see filling the jack route, routing a JM trem hole and repainting the body to get a real JM look.
Pure class, man. :?
Im gonna get one of these squires and switch the pickup covers to white if you can so it looks like this. I need something I can sticker up, tape up and thrash around the bar and not worry about it, this is definitely what Im looking for, thanks squire. Wonder when we can order?

I doubt, these would even need a refin to get them with a Floating trem.... so all good in my book!
I wonder if the bodies will be thick enough to route for a standard JM/jag trem... I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to reduce the thickness to save money, weight, etc.
I think they'll be like the other Vintage Modified Squier series, so I "Think" the boddy thickness will be ok for such a conversion.
The only ones that have thinner bodies are the Affinity series, which are only 38mm thick instead of 44mm.(regarding, the strats, that is)
Jm/Jag body thickness is normally 42mm, but I managed to get a full working Jm/jag trem in a 36mm thick body. (only took off a little bit of the end of the trem arm to make it not "bottom out") After all, a std Jm/Jag trem cavety is 35/36 mm deep, so even a 38mm thick body should work...
So I guess it will be doable, though time will tell ;)

Like the reissue Danelectro vol/tone knobs, 2,2, 2 knobs in one!
I just caught this post, and it reminds me of the Bruins announcer, every time Tuukka Rask wins a game. Two Us, two Ks, two knobs..er..points!

It really seems nice that someone decided to get a not-special-order-in-the-60's-or-70's maple fretboard in an offset

Okay... I think I have decided that these just don't warrant a purchase from me. Red and sunburst are my least favorite guitar colors. The butterscotch thing isn't really turning me on either. I thought maybe I could do sunburst until I saw the white pickguard :k . My least favorite pickguard color on one of my least favorite guitar colors. Hasn't sunburst popularity faded yet... good grief.. do we need to have every fender model under the sun available in sunburst. It is so overdone it isn't even funny. If I spring for a cheapy jazzmaster, it will be the new surf green guitar fetish Xaviere with the JM copy pickups. It has a fugly headstock but wins over the squiers with traditional trem, bridge, and no strat jack! The Squier Jaguars aren't even Jags at all... so no interest there.

In summary, sick of sunburst, sick of white pickguards, sick of strat parts on non-strat guitars, sick of guitars called jaguars that have very little chrome on them, TOTALLY SICK OF HUMBUCKER JAGS!

Just took another look at the butterscotch jazzmaster. It might grow on me, time will tell. I do think it would be better with white jazzmaster pickup covers instead of black. The black kind of makes it look less jazzmastery IMO.

I think the Jazzmasters look awesome.
The jaguars are fugly though. Just looks like a tremless jagmaster with uglier pickups.
