Fender or Squier, I'd buy one either way. But I'd prefer lower end price for modding, like with the Jarman Mus-uar. (Still kicking myself for missing out on them.)
Why didn’t I know about that!?

I have owned three stock Jagstangs. (Two fiesta and one sonic.) I like the shape a lot, but I like contours so I have made probably four or five custom Jagstangs with contours and a couple of those I did full scale with a hardtail bridge. I think my custom ones are probably my favorite guitars. The shape of the body with added contours and a lower bridge is so nice. :D

The last one is a warmoth. The first one was made by cooterfinger for me. The others were made for me by PST Guitars. On Facebook, he is P Scott Tucker. :) The first three are full scale also. The last two are short scale.

How did you get the Toronado bridge on the Warmoth one?

It isn't an option on their website - is there someone at Warmoth you have to ask nicely, or did you DIY it?

I did it myself. The nice thing is the bridge fits the Jagstang guard so it is pretty easy to get in the right place. I just had to drill the holes.

My ferrule holes weren't perfect, but they were as good as some vintage Fender teles I have seen. :)

It looks good to me! Did you just use a standard handheld drill? Are there any tricks I should be aware of if I were to try it? (I've never used a drill before. Would a bit of practice on some scrap wood be sufficient?)

And how did you do the ground wire for the bridge?

(Sorry for slightly hijacking this thread!)

I used a drill press. To line it up and get the holes even I did the outer holes where strings go through first all the way through the body . Then I did the middle holes about half way, flipped the body over and put nails through the outer holes in the back to help me line up the holes from the back nice and straight. Then I used a bigger bit to make the ferrule hole area a little bigger. That part was hardest for me. (Getting it lined up over the string holes.) The bridge attachment screw holes were easy enough once the six string holes were drilled. For the ground, I ran it from the control plate under the bridge plate at the top corner closest to the control plate. I have seen some old Mustangs and Duo Sonics do this. Works just fine and isn't really noticeable. I didn't want to drill angled through the body and possibly mess it up. LOL

It is under the guard and control plate so you don't even see it. :)

i thought i already replied to this thread a while ago but i don't see it anymore.

here goes again.

my favorite neck on a guitar. any guitar. ever. its similar to a MG69 or a early 2000's CIJ compstang but its a tiny bit skinnier at the nut. no where near an A neck but I can feel the difference between them.

i loved the neck pickup. it sounded even better when i ripped it out and put it in the bridge of one of my old strats.
the bridge pickup sucked. no matter what pickup you put in the bridge of this guitar it sucks. so the obvious solution was fuck a bridge pickup so i got a musicmaster II pickguard from the 60's, a seymour duncan SJAG-1 pickup for the neck and its now an amazing sounding well rounded one pickup guitar.

I got it for christmas in 1995. 1 owner. me.
