If anyone knows where to source the gold material, perhaps Aug could make some?

The material is just aluminium .. getting it anodized (the gold colour) is the trickier bit, at least getting it done cost-effectively.

Has anyone got the adress of the Scotland connection?
I googled around 'n around, but I just couldn't find ANYTHING.
BTW. there's a factory in my area that is spezialized in anodizing,
but I fear they wouldn't get the color right. They are suppliers
for car parts etc. and all I saw from them was real shiny and bright.
I'll try and make one myself in the next few weeks.
If the results are okay, I'll post some pics.

i want to get a black guard & a gold guard done so i've been looking around here, lots of shops in CA work with aluminium and do anodizing.going to pick up a gold 5 hole tele guard for color ref, hoping to come across a 59 or at least a really good trace of one.going to take time though,i'll probably order a few extras if i come across a shop i think can do it right.

Yes it's Andrew who did the Scotland guards - I think he commissioned a run of 20 and it was a labour of love and a LOT of work

. He did 13 and 9 holers.
Vintique - I spoke with the Vintique guy on the telephone a few years ago about making me a gold guard. I concluded after 20 mins of him talking about himself and how wonderful he was that he was to be avoided at all costs. The cost of the phone call was worth it just to learn that. I would not recommend any dealings with this guy to anyone and it doesn't surprise me in the least to hear of these non delivery issues.

I JUST GOT MY HANDS ON SEVERAL SQUARE METERS OF 2mm TIN FOIL! YEAH!!!
Which means I'm a tiny bit further in the preparations for my own anodized guard.
Right now I'm sending pics out to anodizers asking if they can reproduce the color.
I guess that will be the hardest part, getting the color right (all I have is pics of '58
guards, and I'm comparing them all against each other, adjusting the color levels so
as to get kind of a rootmeansquare color scheme, as they all look a little different).
Still don't know how to get the brushing marks done correctly, but I'll figure that out.
