I agree 100%.Jay wrote: Please don't cut up or drill on any vintage original parts to make up another guitar. If you want a XII just buy a XII. They're about the same price anyway and then you don't have to muck up a rare Custom/Maverick to get there.

Re: xii?
I was referring to thew ebow's post here:
i was looking at it in a madway..considering to convert it to a maverick/custom xii...so in essence buying it.. taking the best neck to make a near perfect custom as mine is a bit crappy.. then taking bad neck and refin body.taking filled in through body block out. putting in xii bridge parts and saddles and adding 6 tuners on to head...

Re: xii?
i've changed my mind.. i have seen the error of my way..
how could i repsect myself..it would be like killing one thing becuase i was trying to be cheap..
i apologise about my post!
i think the way forward is to buy it as a sister for my exisiting one..
i am going to sell a few things...i might loose it in the interim..but then again it is a refin..
thanks for advise guys..
it was only because again i was dreaming of a xii and came in contact with a maverick..seems to be a curse or a miracle..depending on your thoughts!

Re: xii?
No, they're the same - my XII body sat in my Jazzmaster case while I waited to get the neck built, and it was a perfect fit. Of course with the neck on it no longer fits in the case...stereordinary wrote: Man, in the those photos of Pete Tonwsend his XII looks like it has a smaller Bass VI body! Are there any profile differences between the XII and Jags/JMs? I always thought they had the same bodies, but now I'm starting to wonder.

Re: xii?
Are they really the same? Hmmm, I always though they looked a tad different. Good info to know....
