It used to happen to me with D'Addario and Ernie Ball.  Dean Markley, GHS, Fender, Snake Oil, and Thomastik strings have all been fine.

I got the picture from a guitar teaching book called "21 Groovy Hits" Easy Guitar Arranged by Ernie Ball, West Coast Publications 2131 West Minerva Avenue Anaheim California, 92804.

Some of the songs he arranged: Yellow Baloon by Yellow Balloon, Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane, When I Was Young by Eric Burdon and the Animals, Gloria by Them...

And he is shown in the picture playing a beautiful White Jag with White pickguard (or at least it looks like that in black and White) that I wish was mine.

In fact, after seeing that picture, I have always wanted a White Jag with white pickguard.

Anyone ever seen one?
