Re: ESP Bass IV
But, um, yeah, I'm really into the IV take on the VI! I didn't know if I would like it, after reading the title of the thread, but man, such a classic look. It's a little off, yes, but I'd totally dig adding one to my bass family. Oh, and I totally agree with DB and the other guys on the SG-style bass. That little bit of an offset does a lot for the bass, I'd actually be totally down buying one to get a bass with humbuckers. I've never brought myself to buy a Gibson SG bass, because they're guitar scaled and klunky seeming, but this is a real offset bass! Imagine if Jack Bruce used one of these after his Bass VI fouled up. If only.... Oh, and check out the headstock, classical guitar style, like the early SG basses. Pretty cool. Will we ever see any of these in the States?

If you don't mind it in black, sans classical-style headstock, they've been available for a while:

Like this?StevenO wrote: I really wish somebody would make a single cutaway, big bodied hollow 6 string bass. That would be superb.

Re: ESP Bass IV
Wait... Gibson made those? I had no clue! Any famous players use them back in the era of hollow-body basses, ala the Yardbirds and Animals in the mid 60's?
