Borrowed this from another Forum:

And this (Quote "this one has the the 9.5" overlaying the 7.25". I color-inverted the 9.5" and brought the opacity down so you can see the difference. The dark lines at the sides are where the 9.5" exceeds the 7.25", and the light line on top is where the 7.25" exceeds the 9.5".)

I can understand the desire for the vintage radius, but it has it downsides too....

I bought one of the 9.5's and I'd buy another 9.5, probably sooner than I'd buy a vintage radius....

The *best* thing would be for them to mix some of each, but I doubt they'd be able to get that as cheaply...

Either way great job on presenting the possibilities to them!

Cheap? Theyre like 1600$.
Thats the problem with me buying one, basically Im paying 600$ more for a matching  headstock.

Well, I, for one, can't get under strings as well when I'm bending the one below it and I end up hitting that one as well... >:(  I'm a big string bender!
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

^ Precisely....

...And I didn't mean to imply that they are cheap *for us* , I meant that the Music Stores (which are not mega-corporations by any stretch) can get a special run cheaper from Fender the more alike the batch is... So the more it cost them to make them (e.g. the more options and variants), the more money they will pass-on to buyers....

I'm not against a vintage neck, don't get me wrong, in fact they *may* be cheaper to do that way, because then you *literally* just have an AVRI with a paint-job, don't you. But I am saying that I likely wouldn't have bought one without the updated radius, and am extremely happy with that update myself... It sets these apart from what you can get any day of the year... Also if all it is a 1700.00 reissue, then why wouldn't you go for an actual vintage, which can still be found in that range on occasion?

This is a modernization of the 62 Jag, which, IMHO is a long-overdue idea....

I did mention to both stores that there were quite a few of us interested in the Thin skins with matching headstock but were either turned off by the radius or the frets or both.  They really didnt give me any feedback about that but you never know.

I did want them to be aware of that

The gist I got when talking with Music Machine when I went and bought one was that they are interested in creating unique models, that they really like to do this and to play with innovation.... Sounded to me like they come up with something new every year or so...  I thought they said they had something in mind with Gibson at the moment too...

I really love that they do this, not to mention that in the era of mega-music stores, it's damned-good business...

That they are listening to us though, says good things to me, I don't think Musicians Friend or GC would really do that without a specific dollar amount involved...

You are doing God's work in getting all this to them, and given that I'm an atheist, I hope you realize that's a major compliment!

I wonder if they could be coerced into a Bass VI run  eventually if enough people pre-ordered!!!!?????

I have talked in the past to my dealer I buy my Masterbuilts from, and I think what he told me is if you want to do a special run like that you are looking at 100 piece run minimum
