Seems like plenty of people buy direct from Japan on here with no issues.
I'd be keen to have a go and avoid the markup shops in the UK place on them. Any particular shop better than another? Seems like Kinko is the most popular?

Kinko were great. It was slightly unnerving ordering from them as it’s all via email & PayPal not the actual website. They also say something like “this is a second hand instrument” when shipping overseas - I presume so they don’t have to accept returns as readily.
But on the other hand, as soon as I paid I got an email with a ton of pics of the actual guitar, and a video of a guy demonstrating it was all working. It was then shipped and arrived very quickly. Budget an extra ~ 20% for DHL import taxes (UK).
I’m very pleased with both the guitar and the ordering process.
would do again.

Ishibashi Music and Ikebe Music are a couple more that I know of but have no direct experience with. I ordered from Kinko and am very happy with the deal so far, more on that when the item arrives. Ishibashi seems to offer more used items but does sell new as well. I requested a quote on a Fender Jag from Ikebe which was replied to very quickly. The time difference needs to be factored in depending on where you are.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:39 amSeems like plenty of people buy direct from Japan on here with no issues.

Note that the prices in yen include 10% local tax which you can deduct for accurate pricing. Shipping and other fees will be quoted if you request. If paying by PayPal Kinko added 3.7% (I think) and PayPal charged me 4.5%. Superficial's post above covers the UK fees.

I received the inca silver jag yesterday. The quality level honestly blows me away, and compares quite favorably with my AVRI jag (besides the nitro finish that the AVRI has).
The only thing I'm not sure about is the 40mm nut width, I've never had a guitar before with such a narrow size.

This. I wanted to love these guitars SO BAD. Quality-wise they were absolutely stunning and easily rivaled or beat my MIA offsets (of which I’ve had MANY). I just could not get used to such a narrow nut width..found it extremely cramped while chording.reversedelay wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 6:54 amI received the inca silver jag yesterday. I've also owned many MIA, MIM and MIJs. Honestly, picking this jag up, you instantly notice how nice it is. This is absolutely on the quality level of MIA, at a price lower than MIM.
I think I'll keep it, I've been playing it for a few hours and I can get by. It's an adjustment for sure though.

Were you able to split into 3 with PayPal as per most retailers these days?Gwelo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 2:59 pmIshibashi Music and Ikebe Music are a couple more that I know of but have no direct experience with. Do you mean split into three payments?
Not sure I understand your question.

I asked Kaz how many total of these inca silver FSRs will be made... Kaz says that they don't know for sure, but definitely less than 50.

I actually really like the nut width but yeah it’s a thing. Seems far more noticeable than the vintage radius to me. If you’ve got massive spade hands maybe best avoided.

Interesting that Fender Japan current shortscale offset nut width ranges from 40mm to 42mm.
Like most shop exclusives this year seem to list 40mm regardless of neck radius, and the 2023 Block + Binding / IBM Jags that are more widely available are 41.02mm. The Jazzmaster juniors are 42mm.

I had a Trad Jaguar with the narrow nut and yeah it's noticeable. Although the neck also has some girth to it. So if you like having your thumb over it'll be comfier.superficial wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 3:31 pmI actually really like the nut width but yeah it’s a thing.
