Was done by a local luthier, sanded, repainted and decal applied.Really hated the truss rod hole on the headstock.Painted looks better imo.

New to the "offset" world (been playing for 40 years) and I think I've FINALLY found the perfect guitar!

Although they don't seem to get much respect around here, I LOVE my Squier VMJM Special.
The fixed toploader bridge s perfect for me, since I never use trem (just use my hands or manipulate th guitar for trem-type effects)
The REAL eye opener is the PICKUPS!!! Perfect blend of clarity and drive, spank and spit.....I'm now looking at some of my other guitars to see how I can fit JM pups on them!

Anyway, here she is. Looks like a fairly "run of the mill" Special, but plays like so much more....and for $200 from the local GC, what a deal! I would gladly have paid much more (but happy I got'er for such a great price!)

I got this VMJM for my girlfriend a couple years ago off Craigslist LA. We were told it belonged to Katie Goodman of Vivian Girls, which was actually confirmed when I ran into her at The Satellite a couple weeks later. I won the gold anodized ToneGuard at the LA Amp Show last year and it was a perfect drop-in replacement. I opted for a 4-way Fender Custom Shop Tele switch and wired it "Series > Neck > Parallel > Bridge" to make up for the loss of the rhythm circuit. Other than that an adjustable Mustang bridge, 500k pots, and some Starcaster-esque witchhat knobs. One of these days I'll get around to replacing the nut.

My first offset! Got it in January after lurking around these boards for a couple of years. I got this as a modding platform. I replaced the pickguard with a mint green one...CAR with mint is probably my favorite combo. I also sanded off the DD pickup logos with 1200 grit sandpaper. I wanted a beefier bridge pickup, so I replaced it with a CP (not pictured) and I'm pretty happy with it. Thinking of getting an Antiquity II for the neck and a Staytrem bridge someday.

Here's my VM Jaguar HH in fiesta red, now a Jaguar SS thanks to a set of GFS Surf 90's. Here's how it looks:

Excellent playing and lovely guitar. I love that fiesta red one with the tort guard.

I always thought that model could have used a tremolo, but you certainly managed to get some nice tremolo sounds without one!

One of my Sq JMascis JMs.
Image

Featuring Wilkinson roller bridge, VM tort and black witch hats. The pickups are slightly under-wound Bullocks and it sounds fantastic!

What has caused the stains around the pickguard?
