Re: Fender Japan 2023 Collection - Comp Stripe + BB IBM
^apparently according to “one of the resellers” websites, several people happily paid the upcharge, and they are “hinting” they could ask for more in the next batch.
Wouldn’t surprise me if some of these resellers have a good business relationship with some of the stores as it seems these MIJ FSRs seem to move faster outside of Japan and create more “mystique/hype” for the series.
I am guessing there may be quite a few people that don’t want to deal with the hassle of importing themselves and would pay more for a “local” seller that can guarantee everything is fine etc.

Hope you're able to pull that deal off!
I'm assuming this is the last of the Ishibashi 2023 FSR line. Natural Ash Body Late 60s Jazzmaster. Not overly impressed by it but the more Japan FSRs in the world the better.

Thanks, Mr In Bloom Guitars himself is coming round my house tomorrow afternoon

That Jazzmaster looks a bit pale and anemic for my tastes. If that was a lovely, rich, dark coloured wood then it'd be much more tasteful I think.

That JM would look better with a different pickguard, I think.
Black or plain anodized would look pretty boss.

Forgive the dark photo, my attic is equipped only with vibe lighting

This Jag is stunning, really nicely put together.

That's my pride and joy. '62 Olympic White refin, all original - currently has a Staytrem fitted but original bridge is in the case. I'm yet to play another Jaguar that feels and sounds as good as this one. It's got some hours under its belt, finish is lovely showing its age and the neck is sublimely worn in.

I actually didn't know that about them.andy_tchp wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 3:55 amViking Power wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 1:25 pmWe have a local dealer that is bringing these units from recent years in and a quick skim is showing them as marked up over 100%. Yes, they're selling the Japanese units for prices comparable to MIA vintage reissues.
Seems outrageous to me.
Gee I wonder which dealer that is.
They are very well known as a bunch of lying rip-off merchants.

Fender Japan Hybrid II Jazzmaster in Sherwood Green
The FSRs keep raining down - matching headstock Sherwood Green with basically the American Pro 1 specs.
Modern C neck and 42mm nut width could be a good option for those that were put off by the U profile and 40-41mm nut width of the Traditional line.
