Our Guitar Centers sound nearly identical. There was a used silver-faced Fender Champ in mine that I touched the back of and got a bit of a jolt! Obviously needs som TLC.wooderson wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 10:02 pmArlington, TX (I have zero idea why my GC has such a well-stocked fancy room... a couple dozen Gibson Custom Shops on the wall that I haven't seen move once and another 12-15 Fender CSes...)
Agree with you about the yellow color being gross—big deal-breaker for me.

I seem to recall reading somewhere on OSG that the bridge pickup is a little '59, but the EOB Strat has a JB jr in the bridge. Does anyone know what Marr has put in his? :-)Ret Samzzaj wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 3:32 amJohnny Marr also plays a blue Jaguar on stage with a different pickup set compared to his standard signature model.
The bridge pickup is a SD humbucker in single coil format I believe. Any ideas about the neck pickup??

Johnny's Blue Sig Jag has rear-mounted controls for the Fernandes Sustainer pickup in the neck position (the Fernandes Sustainer - one mini switch is "On/Off", the other is for the 3 sustain/octave/feedback levels). It's JB Jr in the bridge position.

I was changing out the pick guard on my Marr Jag and noticed it was pre drilled for a mute. Are they all like that?

If anyone was looking for a new white Marr Jag, Wildwood Guitars got three of them in last week, and they're all right in the 8-8.5lb range.

It's amazing how a pickguard can change the whole look of a guitar!

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I got one of these in LPB a few months back. Mint condition, with the case and all the candy, for a great price. Lovely guitar with a great neck. Here is a pic with my AV65 soon after it arrived:
I really enjoyed the contrast to my AV65, and the different features, especially the series position sound. However, no matter what I did (pickup height, strings, etc), it sounded noticeably duller and less interesting than my AV65. Also, there was an annoying metallic ringing sound on the high e, b and g that I suspected was coming from the bridge.
This week I swapped the stock bridge out for a brand new traditional American bridge (the stock one that came on the AV and AO guitars). And from the first chord I strummed I could hear that all the dullness and annoying metallic ringing was gone for good, and the guitar finally started to shine. The clarity and sparkle I hear now from these pickups is incredible. It still sounds quite different from my AV65, but no longer inferior.
So, moral of the story is this: if you find one of these sounding dull, try swapping out the bridge instead of the pickups. If you don't like the traditional Jag/JM bridge, try a Staytrem, Mastery, etc.

Is yours the older 55mm wide version or the revised 52mm version?

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
It is the new 52mm one. Those became standard starting with the LPB run in 2018.
