Wait, I thought literally none of the new models come left-handed? The only "interesting" lefty that I've seen was last years CV Jazzmaster. I really wanted to buy it, but after playing one at my local shop I couldn't get into it.manwithtitties wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 1:46 amit is the year of squier baby!!! they should bring that one back tho. I would buy that immediately.
Just giving some ideas of cool things they should put out:
- maybe a bullet version of the vista music master (one hum, volume, push pull, matching headstock)
- Reissue of the all black mij HH jag (maybe even one with a trem?) or something more like the cp/vintera jag
- bring that jazzmaster baritone back
- xii, venus xii or even a jazzmaster xii
- more shit for lefties, more cool colors
- just stop making strats and sunburst guitars. Theres too many, no need for new ones honestly

I am weak and pre-ordered the black Super-Sonic. I really love this whole line and will probably end up with at least one more. I still have a Meteora to finish modding, so I'd better get to it.

Re: Squier 2020 line
I've had two Fender Cyclones that were awesome, but I can never get on with a Modern "C" neck and I've since moved them on. Shame, as they sounded awesome.
The Squier Paranormal Cyclones in Shell Pink and Daphne Blue are tempting, with the standard "C" neck. I'm also kind of digging the Cabronita Tele Thinline in Fiesta Red and the Jazz Bass '54 White Blonde.
I'm going to wait for some demos before I decide for sure.

Bummed that they're still using Laurel. I thought with the CITES restrictions being lifted for musical instruments, we'd start to see rosewood again on Squiers. Other manufacturers are importing guitars with rosewood.

Re: Squier 2020 line
I think once the majors made the change they're sticking with it, especially with the mid and lower priced models. Fender is Pau Ferro. Squier, Gretsch are Indian Laurel. Epiphone is Indian Laurel and ebony. Ibanez and LTD are Jatoba. G&L Tributes are Brazilian Cherry. On the flip side Schecters (entry models), Eastwood, and PRS SE's are rosewood. Schecter uses ebony , also. The biggest major still using rosewood on entry and mid models is Yamaha.rhythmjones wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 3:42 pmBummed that they're still using Laurel. But once those supply chains were established and the new wood choices didn't dramatically effect sales they were all in. The rosewood ship has sailed for import electric guitars I suspect.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Re: Squier 2020 line
Possibly they contracted for a certain amount of supply of fretboard wood on the basis of the ban on rosewood, once those contracts run out they may change if the supply of rosewood is cheap enough.

Re: Squier 2020 line
Are we not past the point of what woods guitars are made from these days? Especially Squier.
I've had a few laurel squier necks, if they've been a bit dry upon receipt some lemon oil has darkened them nicely. They feel fine.

Re: Squier 2020 line
I sent them another email now that the series is officially announced and got a much better response:guitalias wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 11:48 pmI contacted Fender Australia -
Hello, when do you expect the Squier Paranormal Series Toronado Electric Guitar Lake Placid Blue model 0377000502 will be available in Australia? thank you
Response not promising -
Thanks for getting in touch with us. Unfortunately I’m not able to provide any information, there has been no official announcement about a Paranormal Series of instruments.
Regards,
Fender Music Australia
So no specifics on dates or prices, but confirmation that I won't have to import one myself!Yes the Squier Paranormal Series will be available in Australia.
Information about these models will be going live on our website over the coming weeks.
You can contact any of our Fender Dealers to see about securing one of these models for yourself.

Can't wait to see how exorbitant the 'Fender Australia' markup is!
I definitely don't need another guitar, but I definitely need a purple sparkle Tele.

I mean... that's pretty reasonable. You can't fault that kind of thinking.
