You know what notbillcosby, keep checking ebay.
I have a black AVRI Jazzmaster which I love, but a few months ago I wanted to add a AVRI Jag to my collection, but I wasn't too happy about the color choices either. I looked on ebay and bought a brand new Inca Silver Jag for $1,100 shipped! It was a custom shop job, because they stopped Inca Silver about 2000 or 2001 I believe, this was a 2006. Deals and rare color AVRI's are out there...keep looking. I saw a beautiful fiesta red AVRI Jag sell the other day for a decent price. If your interested I can get you the number to a place that has a New IBM AVRI Jazzmaster for sale for $1200! That color was discontinued for Jazzmasters this year.
Glad you decided to get an AVRI. I pretty much did the same thing as you in figuring out what I wanted. Now I have an AVRI Jag and Jazzmaster and they are both the best guitars I've ever played. It's a great feeling to have such beautiful guitars around me.

Oh, i look on ebay like you don't even KNOW! I spend more time than is healthy on ebay...
I MIGHT have found a vintage one near me... it's a refin, but only an hour away from my house and reasonably priced. If i can get a vintage refin for near the same price as a new AVRI... i'm gonna jump all over that

What a bummer! I think it's funny that MF just included the AVRI JM and Jag in their latest catalog for the first time in as long as I can remember. But you can't get one?
Sure you can!... you just have to wait a few months until fender has them again.
I'm just glad I have mine already!

To anyone who's interested... I talked to the folks at the MF/GC warehouse again today. They said that the Jazzmasters are scheduled to show back up in the ware house any day now. How? Because they're moving their warehouse, and as far as I could tell, when things are in transit they don't show up as being in stock. The oly white ones are in stock, sunburst is scheduled to show back up today or tomorrow. Score! So the question is, do I pay a couple hundred more and get one from our warehouse NOW, or do I go ahead and order one for $900 through my ridiculous hookup and wait until they're back in stock at Fender, in the meantime still scouring eBay for great deals? Gaaah i'm so torn, again.

Hookup, hookup, hookup!
Get what you want, not just what is available.

What i could get right now and what i could get in 3 months would be the same thing, but wiht a $200 difference. the question is- is having a guitar here 3 months sooner worth $200 to me? I've never ever spent this much money all at once on... well, anything before. It's a hell of an investment!

I say for a difference of 200, go for it! If it was a 300 dollar Jagmaster that you were saving 200 on, that'd be different. But on a $1000ish purchase, 200 isn't worth three months! IMO, of course.

I subscribe to RumorsOFsurf's line of thinking. That you could likely pick up 200 on the ground in 3 months if you look in the right places cinches it for me. It's your 200 though notbillcosby.
Edited for grammar.

Yeah, maybe I forgot to mention... the sunbursts were supposed to be back in today or so.

Alright! Well, I guess those avri's AREN"T back in the warehouse yet, but they will be as soon as they get checked back into the system, basically. I've gotten 3 different dates from 3 different people, so... Whatever.
Anyway, went ahead and ordered one. I will also get one from Fender in a few months when they're back in stock, and decide which one is the right fit for me.
Why didn't I think of that in the first place?

Because you're not Bill Cosby.
