What are the resistance readings typically found on the Duncan Designed pickup sets used in regard to the Squier VM Jaguar and VM Jazzmaster?

thanks

For the Jaguar pickups, I read a vintage-ish 6.14 neck and pretty hot 11.67 on the bridge.

I've read most pages of this thread, but I just want to ask some questions before speanding some well-earned money on a new guitar.

Is the VM Mustang really as «bad» as people seems to say? Are there actually any other options besides buying a second-hand discontinued model? I don't mind upgrading it.

nah man the VM mustang is pretty good. The only weak point is in my opinion the bridge which can be easily replaced by a proper cheap mustang bridge. the pickups sound quite nice. They're not really normal mustang pickups and sound more stratty, but they do sound good.

I had one for a while and i currently have a MIJ mustang and honestly there wasn't much of a difference build quality wise. While i do prefer the MIJ, the VM was defnititely close. The bridge was the one glaring difference.

Sorry if this has already been answered in this topic but does anyone know if the MIJ Jag pickguards will fit the Squier VM Jag without any modifications? I just snagged a used white Squier Jaguar and prefer the brighter red tort over the Squier tort one. I'm talking about something like this:

This just came in from Reverb, being a big Beach Boys fan I like to think of it as a Carl Wilson signature jaguar haha

It's a white VM Jag with a refinished matching Fender headstock. I'm really liking It but it didn't come with a tremolo bar though, does anyone know where I can get a replacement one? I can't find any of the official Squier ones for sale here in the forums or anywhere on the net and the cheap jaguar tremolo bars on ebay from China all have different lengths (5.8 mm, 6 mm...). Which one is the correct size for the VM Jag?

edit: well this is odd. I went to pick up the guitar to play it again after writing this post and now the D string's intonation is way out of wack. That string buzzed a bit before I even wrote this post but at least it was intonated. Any quick fix to bypass this for the time being? I just want to enjoy the guitar right now, not take it to a tech right away :-/

Call Fender & get their Part number for the Trem Bar. Then look online using the Fender/Squier Part number. GuitarPartsResource.com (or many others) may have it as well as a reasonable priced quality Fender Mustang Bridge which you'll probably end up getting to solve your other issue.

Best of luck

VM JAG (+ good setup with 11s) is just awesome without upgrades.
Mabe I was lucky but mine had no issues. The finish was perfect, neck is straight, comfortable, no probs with frets and nut. The guitar resonates VERY well
I love so much this guitar so I've made these upgrades
staytrem bridge, avri 65 pickups and avri tremolo assembly and arm

Could you post some more pics/angles of this? I always wonder why Fender can't make pick guards the same way they make the tort picks and this looks like what I imagine. Thanks.

Nice! All it needs now is a matching headstock! I can help with that you know... (for probably much less than you've already spent on upgrades!)
