Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
It seems fender have rectified the bass vi missing screws! Few of the more recent pictures from vendors are showing the lake placid blue one with correct screws around the switch plate!
Wonder if they’ll adjust the competition stripes on the mustang to a less exaggerated angle, I know a few on here like them like that but for me they look too long and stretched! I much prefer the vintage and even squier versions with them smaller!

It's like '60s Fender all over again! Every day there's some slight differences!fuzzy_man_peach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 2:40 amIt seems fender have rectified the bass vi missing screws! I guarantee they just lurk here to read feedback and update the guitars accordingly. Nowhere else is such a trove of information available. Many people here know more about the offsets than people who work at Fender themselves.

That would explain why they finally got the blocks right after years of complaints.

I saw that..pretty amazed since I tried to get them to fix that mistake on the custom shop VI’s when they first appeared and they never did. And I just checked I emailed them in 2008.. 15 years ago!fuzzy_man_peach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 2:40 amIt seems fender have rectified the bass vi missing screws! On some level, I love this! You just know in 60 years time there’ll be folk chasing that super-rare Vintera II with 2 missing screws. Hello, unborns! They existed; they were a thingGilmourD wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 3:58 amIt's like '60s Fender all over again! I really want the competition burgundy and competition orange mustangs! I wonder if in a year they would add matching headstocks kind of like how they corrected the size of the '66 jazzmaster headstock.

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
Stranger things have happened, but I doubt it. There's nothing inherently incorrect about a non-matching headstock competition Mustang, so we couldn't pressure them to "correct" it. A FSR run would certainly be a good excuse, especially if they added in Competition Red to complete the trifecta.Bouts_n_Stouts wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 7:00 amI really want the competition burgundy and competition orange mustangs! Yeah good point. Just wishful thinking. Still will get them both sometime down the line.

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
Anyone know the quality of the hardware on the Vintera Bass VI compared to something like an AVRI Jazzmaster?

Here ya go! Learned something interesting - weak as heck bridge pickup...neck pickup is great. Still, likely get some Kinman pickups or something when able.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 7:07 amI was too busy playing it!I'm going to make a demo/review video of it tomorrow.

I'm supposed to receive mine later today, I'll be able to make a comparison for you based on my AVRI Jazzmaster and my Squire Bass VI which has an AVRI unit installed.

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
EDIT 1: Sorry, posted the same message twice.
EDIT 2: It's here!
No time to properly check it out and plug it in, but here are my first impressions.
Sturdy looking tuners, a notch chunkier than the Klusons on my AVRI Jazzmaster.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the neck pocket might be routed at an angle. The bridge stands high off the body, but the action is reasonable: about 2,6 millimeters at the 17th. I'll take the neck off to oil the fretboard later today and check whether we're dealing with a shim or if the neck pocked is routed at an angle.
The neck feels nice. A tad more slim and sleek than the Squire. However, the string spacing feels absolutely fine.
The nut is sharp! The fret ends on the bass side are fine - not great - the treble side seems a bit sharper. Not something to address immediately, but a let down none the less.
The action and neck angle are very comparable to my Squire. However, the low E string is way less mushy. A big improvement. I've used both the heavier Fender round wound set and Thomastik flats on the Squire, but I could never get definition from the low E. Any note below the 5th fret was nigh on indistinguishable.
The trem lock is not set up properly. Overall, the trem works fine, equivalent to an AVRI. However, the collet is wobbly. That's a new one for me. I'll get that sorted later today too.
No images for now, sorry.
