Just got one these and I'm impressed! It plays nice and it rings, first time playing and owning a Mustang. Put a vintage white guard from eBay. Did not line up at all had to use a dremel to cut it into place but I think it looks much nicer than the stock nasty tort. Thinking of putting black pickup covers on it.

Black covers for sure! But you'll have to change the pickup switches too....

Is the Candy Apple Red pulled from this range?

Not according to the Squier page: http://shop.fender.com/en-US/squier-pro ... r-productsMrFingers wrote:Is the Candy Apple Red pulled from this range?
Jazzmasters and Jags still have the CAR finish, while the Mustang still has the Fiesta Red finish.

You say that, Fender say it's still in the range, but they seem to be tough to find most places.

This thread needs a 6 year anniversary bump.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

I can't believe it's been 6 years. I've gone from craving one of these to owning one to selling it to fund my Classic 60s Lacquer to wanting one again. I've got a Vintage Modified Bass VI does that count?

I was just admiring my VM Jazzmaster today and thinking... 2012 was a long time ago. Remember when you could get one for $260 Canadian? gah. $520 up here now...

Re: Mid-2012 Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Jaguar Mustang
Ever since I started playing guitar, I've always been attracted to the Fender offsets. Especially the Mustang and the Jaguar. I took a hiatus from music maybe half a year or so before these were released. Fast-forward to 2018, and I'm back into music, and I'm CRAVING a Seafoam Green Jag. My GAS for the Jazzmaster has subsided, and I don't really care for a Mustang anymore now that I have a Cyclone and Duo-Sonic (M-bodies are the best). Too bad they're 540+ tax where I am. Can't find any for less than 350 on the used listings.
Guess I'll just wait until Squier releases more colour ways to the public...

I owned an Olympic White VM Jag originally...LOVED IT, but sold it to fund the restoration of a 1966 Gibson SG Jr.
I missed that guitar from the MOMENT it walked out my door.
It took me over 3 years to get another one due to how scarce they are and people's unwillingness to sell.
I finally grabbed a CAR one about 1.5 years ago and love it...BUT it's not as good as the original white. Funny how that works.
I love the CAR and it's not going anywhere, but I do miss that white!

When in doubt, listen to the Ventures.
