i hope they do even more colors of the SQJM. I'd love to see OTM or LPB... I'm sure I'm not the only one who would grab one of those 8)

I played one of the new Orange Duo Sonics the other day. It's a cool looking Guitar but the Neck wasn't for me. Really Cool Vibe though!

I'd like to try out one of the Squier VM Mustangs. I really like the Vintage White with Tort Pickguard. It would be great if it plays as good as it looks!

I was at this, it was a meeting in Sydney for Aussie Fender Dealers. The red JM is not a J Mascis, it's a new model called the Deluxe Jazzmaster, comes in the one colour in the hardtail or trem. Neck felt closer to the J Mascis than any other Squier JM though.

Interesting, thanks! Hard to tell from the photo, but I wonder what the pickups are like. Do you remember if they had screw pole pieces like the Mascis?

Despite the pics fuzziness, it looks to me like they do. Since they appear to be at slightly different heights and regular jm pickups tend to have flat pole pieces afaik. Unless they are the p90 type jm pickups with the possibly staggered screw pole pieces as on the jmjm. :shifty:

They should offer that red Jazzmaster in sunburst so it would look like a '58 '59 Jazzmaster. That would be cool. A non vintage spec 58 Jazzmaster, I would play that for sure.

That red JM looks like the sort of questionable taste item a teenager mods in front of the TV. I was going to say it was one step up from slapping a sticker on a guitar but that's too kind.

Increasingly Fender look like they just knock these ideas off after a particularly heavy lunch.

One thing though, in his post reg. the Musuar's future, Gary Jarman wrote something about Squier discontinuing the signature editions? (that post was later edited btw).

It could then very well be Squier has decided to transform the SQJMJM into a deluxe JM model?

Wouldn't surprise me. Both the Deluxe and the Baritone appear to be using spare parts left over from previous models - the Baritone looks like a recoloured Antigua Baritone from last year and the Deluxe is just the JMJM in red.

Don't know sorry, only played it for a sec to see what the neck was like and then went and played the American Pro's. During speeches they seemed to want to move into offsets way more in the near future, so might be more models coming soon.

As for the Baritone, I'm pretty sure they said the Black was in addition to the Antigua.

Maybe it is the same specs as the Mascis, but by not calling it such, he would get no royalties from it?

If the mascis neck goes away, I'm gonna start flinging poo like a monkey and not be very happy.
This is an excellent rectangle
