Re: 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI
It's a trap.
No really...
after crapping my pants and making those little mental plans, like we all do
I made a practical list. "Okay... what am I gonna do?"
I realized, that all-said and done... I'd end up with the body and neck (original).
Everything else would be replaced.
If you total that up...?
That's a lot of $$, after the initial outlay. Especially, if you're buying one straight off the boat...
Probably not the best way to go about building a VI.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I don't know. I think the body itself might be worth it. Basswood will make a nicer Bass VI, I think... Those things are heavy.

All in all -the Squier is closer to the true original vintage issue than the PS - Parts , Body etc - nope its a steal. And a for me ... a very long wait for this to happen.parry wrote:It's a trap.

Your opinion means nothing if you don't back it up.

Re: 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI
Sorry to poo-poo.
I hear ya...
I'm still excited - I mean, c'monnnnnn!! BLOCK NECK!!
But yeah...
stepping back - all dollars spent and project finished...
putting actual numbers to what i'd like to do with it - for ME - there might be a better route.
I won't do anything new - I know that.
If I did anything with the Squier neck/body, it'd (for sure) be used.
We'll see.

Re: 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI
It would figure I just bought a PSVI that's due to arrive today. Musicians Friend took 15% off and that seemed to hard to pass up. I'm wondering if I should just send the guitar back and wait until the Squires arrive.

Re: 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI
If you don't intend to mod and like the PS version - then stick with it - they really wont be around forever. Personal choice.
Being somewhat of a traditionalist I want the classic basis - is all.
P.s the PS VI is not crap - I was just personally disappointed - and wanted to change a heap of it there and then. Just not cost effective for me overall. I'd bought two VM's last year already. I imagine the Squier VI's will be out late fall - time will tell.
