How does the build quality stand up against the old Chinese Classic Vibes? I know there wasn't a CV Jag, but every CV I've owned has been excellent.DavidG wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 6:01 amFret ends are not sharp on mine, so hopefully yours will be the same. I think the other photo might be an ivory pickguard, which I don't have. I do have a few, most of which are an instant no! Think I will stick with the stock dark tort or the cream for now:

@jonobolton. Not had chance to put it through its paces yet, concentrating on getting the new guard on, oiling the board and putting 11's on it.
However, based on a brief noodle with it and visually it's right up there. I've had a few Chinese classic vibes and although I cant deny they were good, I was never blown away. These to me look and feel more substantial, but I'm sure it's a personal preference thing. I've always really liked the Indonesian Squiers, especially the necks.
Guitars are like most products though, an object built to a price point. So I dont expect origin counts for much these days.

Red tort generally looks too much like some kind of cured meat. Salami-esque.manwithtitties wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 6:11 amcream looks good! Red tort is a war crime in general, unsurprised by that one looking bad
I kind of dig the mint on pink look here.

I expected to like mint, but I think that particular mint is too green to work on the pink. It kinda looks like someone drowning their nausea in pesto bismol.
The cream accomplishes what I expected the mint to do. I love it.
Edit for autocorrect.

Same here. I’ve been thinking mint was going to be the right choice, but that cream actually looks better to me. It looks fantastic!

Re: Squier 2020 line
i just got mine, no sharp frets, setup kind of sucks as expected but it still kind of plays nice, not sure how that works. kind of feels nicer than the vm i used to have.
edit: quickly plugged into my jazz chorus, sounds great, its so much fucking lighter than that vm as well!
Edit 2: i dont really need the shim the neck, this somehow works with a low ass bridge and 9s. I genuinely dont understand this
