Talked to a buddy at guitar center earlier today about possibly ordering one of the new jags. Apparently they’re backordered until April lol

Check other shops... Sometimes GC's backorder dates depend on when they can pay their bills.

Yeah the shop in my hometown is expecting a jag to arrive sometime in the next few weeks! Though I was really hoping to get my buddy’s friends & family discount at GC since it’s like 20-30% off for Fender gear lol. He’s an assistant manager so he’s got access to their order data and apparently there are like just over 100 orders of the black vintera jag nationwide

I guarandamntee you there's thousands of orders for the black Jag... As a former GC employee I can tell you... If it isn't a black Strat, a blonde Tele, or a clownburst Les Paul the buyers at GC don't know what they're looking at.

NGD (last night)...

Vintera II '50s Jazzmaster - what can I say? I'm a sucker for Desert Sand and the rosewood fingerboard. The "Late-'50s "C"-Shape" neck is similar to the Vintera II '70s Competition Mustang's neck - Modern C-ish in depth (front to back) but wider. Surprisingly comfortable for me. It's similar if not spot on to the old AVRI "D" shape.

Stock pickups are decent. The stock strings are 10s and I'll use them for now. At some point, I'll put on some 11s. Tuning stability isn't so great currently. I'll work on the synthetic nut. If I still have issues, I'll put a bone nut in it. Swapped out the stock bridge for a Mustang bridge.

Anybody who's gotten the new Jag... Do you have calipers? What's the nut width as measured (I know what the spec sheet says)?

I quite liked the Black Jag instore, not so much the fact that it costs more than importing a Traditional Jag from Japan. Maybe it's a clearance angle for me...

OK, to add onto my unanswered question here...

What's the spec on the arm? Is it vintage-diameter with the collet to match or is that beautifully curved wiggle stick import spec?
