I found that to be true also. I think it's mostly the covers. Also, the body could play a part in it. The Toronado is really heavy compared to the Super-Sonic, and there's a lot more of it. The Super-Sonic is much smaller.

Impressed by the block on the Supersonic, it's not one of those half-size zinc blocks you often get in Squiers. It's shorter too, I'm tempted to stick it in a Jagstang I've got and work something else out for the SS.

Re: Squier 2020 line
I just gave my paranormal supersonic with the temperamental neck some attention. I leveled and dressed the 4 or 5 frets around the 12th fret where there is the hump in the fretboard and also clamped the neck into a back bow and was able to get some more play out of the truss rod to straighten it some more.
I'm able to tune up to E standard now and have the perfect amount of relief and I'm getting much less buzz from the frets below the 12th fret hump now. Could probably still use a full fretboard level but it is much better now and more importantly, a super fun guitar to play. Loving the pickups way more than I thought, especially on clean settings and it's an inspiring guitar to play. Glad I accepted the $100 partial refund and put some setup work in on it so it can hang in there with my vista supersonic and add its own thing to the mix.

Re: Squier 2020 line
I wonder how limited they will be, if at all.
I mean, they came out everywhere now. So maybe it'll be more colors soon, too!

i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

Re: Squier 2020 line
i've heard they're planning 1 or 2 more colours but might drop the line after that. from what i heard, fender were really unsure if these would sell so did a limited run to see if there's any interest. this seems to be the norm with fender right now. do a limited run, see what the reaction is but make it order only at first. then if they're popular, send out to fender dealerships.
edit. i had to do a little work to the supersonic to get it to take a set of 13-56's. i had to go up to 5 springs. so if you're masochistic and must use heavy strings in standard, keep that in mind.

Andertons latest video (about the FSR pink JM and Jag) mentions lots of FSR colours for Squier for next year. I had been looking at getting a jag soon, but might wait if there's interesting colours to come

Re: Squier 2020 line
3 of them are going to be boring mustangs, 1 of them will be a surf green jazzmaster with a tort pickguard. my guess is that its not going to get better than shell pink and daphne blue (which to be fair are some of the best colors)ShatoonBringerOfCorn wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:12 amAndertons latest video (about the FSR pink JM and Jag) mentions lots of FSR colours for Squier for next year. The mustangs leaked on gc last year and you can find pictures of them on the fmicassets website fender uses for images and wiring schematics, i also posted them a few pages back. the surf green jazzmaster is also on that site and you can find it in the description of the guitarcenter page for the daphne blue fsr jazzmaster. these specific models havent appeared anywhere else yet.

Props on the videos!EmilyFromGetOffset wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 3:41 pmI don't know shit!rhythmjones wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 3:24 pmI've been in 60 cycle hum's comments teaching him how to set up a guitar.
There's nothing wrong with not knowing how to set up a guitar, but making YT vids acting like an authority on the subject, while spewing inaccurate information is a pet peeve of mine.
At least GetOffset admits she doesn't know everything.![]()
But seriously, it's hard to do these videos and be right about everything. Sometimes you're just talking and then you're editing the video and you realize you said something dumb. I completely misspoke in my Enzo demo and had to put up a caption that I'm a dummy and corrected myself there.
But I think Ryan is great! I really like the unboxing stuff because it's true first impressions, and not surprising you get some things wrong when you're going off the cuff like that. I feel like he's one of the few demo folks who comes from the regular guitarist world of hobbiests vs. long-time player/tech/experts, and I really do appreciate that.

Re: Squier 2020 line
The Supersonic straight out the box was borderline unplayable, but I was always going to dismantle it and change things. Had no idea finding a left Jag lower control plate in gold as a replacement would be literally impossible though!
