I would kill for a Duo Sonic II just like that.Steadyriot. wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 3:21 pmGo for it! Lizstang all the way.robroe wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:25 pmif i get another one I am going to do another toronado bridge build with it and make the Fender Liz

Curious whether these would take a Duo Sonic neck (MIM) without issue.
I'd also prefer the Duo Sonic pickguard but not sure if it would cover all the cavities.....

I wouldn't see why not.
I got myself another one of these, to use the neck on my 70s Bronco body project and it fit perfectly.

BTW I picked up another one of these...
I have a spare Aria (Motorik we used to call them!) vibrato laying around and may do some modding. I don't have any real tools here so it might/will be a bloody mess but hey...

Re: Poll: Squier Bullet Mustang worth its price?
I got a Sonic Grey one, swapped out the pickups for a musicmaster configuration and gave it to someone as a starter guitar.
I would say that as a modding platform (which is what most people here are interested in) it is definitely worth the price and it's a lot of fun.
On its own merits though, it was basically unplayable out of the box. The nut was very badly cut and improperly seated, the frets had tons of dead spots, the jack was weirdly crimped and tore the plug off my cable. The neck had the skunk stripe sticking out in bits, first time I've seen that.
So I'd easily recommend it especially for people on OSG, but I'd actually recommend beginners and non-tinkerers to stay clear unless they could get it set up somewhere.

Really?!
My two were pretty damn good right outta the box!
I only oiled the fretboard, polished the frets (they were all so rough, kinda sandy feeling, not good for bendings) and put thicker strings on, then adjusted the truss rod accordingly.
Nut and electronics were/are OK

Re: Poll: Squier Bullet Mustang worth its price?
I wouldn't be surprised if it's a QC issue (the nut was halfway out of the slot and I had to scrape off a huge glob of superglue to get it to sit correctly). I thought it's just worth mentioning cause I've had a fair handful of Squiers across the range and this is the only one I had an issue with.
I think the sandy frets is definitely consistent, though.

I've managed to resist buying one so far. Even when they did the surf green one. Even when they did the sonic grey one. Even when they did the orange comp one.
Mostly because of the 12" radius and thin body. Gotta have a JM trem on it.
But who am I kidding? As soon as they do an FSR in shell pink I'm toast.

I have one of those trems laying around too. I've been wondering way too long what to do with it..
But this is actually a really good idea. And I love the new one that's coming out with those Orange stripes
