Thanks!SneakyT wrote:Yes. I just use spray adheasive with aluminum foil and adhere it to the back of the guard. Cheap and works like a charm.stig wrote:The tort shells really look spectacular. I want to do this on mine. Do you need any sort of shielding behind it?

Re: Show your Squier Mascis JM Mods/Improvements!
Well, I got the pickguard I wanted, and put it on last night.
Took a bit of doing. It didn't fit exactly, and I had to do a bit of drilling and grinding (it's an Allparts guard), but I think the results were worth the work. I really love the way this turned out.
It just looks right now.
I don't look forward to opening up this guitar again. I think the JM is the hardest guitar I've ever had to work on, due to all the stuff inside and how perfectly everything has to fit together. Not like a Strat or Tele.

I put a roller bridge by GFS and a Fender USA trem on mine last weekend. The tremolo action improved a lot. It was fine before, but now it's really nice. Bridge dropped in without a problem, there was some rattling on the b-string saddle, but a bit of nail polish took care of that (neighbor girl only had red nail polish so now my bridge looks like someone cut himself, whatever )

More tort. Plus stang-o-matic and amber switch tip. I thought I was going to try to match the headstock, but like this, it reminds me of an Oldsmobile, in a good way. I may add a treble bleed and or try to install a Jag style bass cut switch at some point. I'm also thinking about switching out the pickups, but we'll see.

Re: Show your Squier Mascis JM Mods/Improvements!
I just bought a Squier JMJM on Ebay and I'm planing to do the exact same mods on it. I'll however switch the neck to a MIJ B&B neck that I have, and switch the knobs to white witch hat knobs instead. Can't wait to get my hands on itshaggseb wrote:I Put a tort AVRI guard and a wilkinson roller bridge. I thought about changing the trem to an AVRI one, but didn't find the need after the bridge upgrade.
Next step, a proper bone nut. I have no plan to change the pickup as I really love them.
