I just went and tried to try it for giggles - no dice if you live in Canada. I was bumped back to the main Fender page.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
Here's a question: if you opt for the Vintage '65 neck, I assume it comes with a "vintage" 7.25" fingerboard (or is the binding and vintage-style tuners enough to make the neck considered "vintage", even if it comes with a 9.5" radius like those thin skins at Wildwood and other places)? But what's the radius on the American Professional bridge that's the only bridge offered? It's 9.5" on the American Professional offset model line (and, I assume, any guitar put together with the 9.5" neck here).
Or are they making a 7.25" American Professional bridge? Or is that just something you overlook/deal with when dropping $1,800 on a guitar? Seems like either they'd give you the option to get a Mustang bridge, OR they'd offer a 7.25" American Professional bridge (and make it known, if you select that option).
It's an awesome idea, and I like how they're slowly adding to it (new colors and neck options, in a very short period of time). So it gives me hope that, at some point soon, it may provide a bit more details/info about the options you're choosing.

They got the pink. Now offer jaguars, and Sherwood green and I won't ask anything else

Yes, as an Aussie I know the redirected feeling. You can access the American site by using a VPN that's located in USA. I have to say when I used it it wasn't overly exciting since the range of options isn't huge, but it's a pretty cool idea. I would like that kind of feature for us too, but some more finishes, models, other options etc would be required for me to pull the trigger. (if I didn't still baulk at the scary price)
And I second the sherwood green!

Calling it a Mod Shop is setting expectations too high in my opinion. If you want a right-handed American Professional Jazzmaster but don't like the current color options, you can get a different color for $300 more.
Fender should rename this American Professional Color Options.

Kind of agree. Including a matching headstock option might go a long way toward making OSG happy thoughNewKId wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 5:06 pmCalling it a Mod Shop is setting expectations too high in my opinion. It's worth noting that you can now get the JM in the 'left-handed' configuration through the Mod Shop too, and since my last comment in this thread they've added that colour, haha.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
I just tried the Mod Shop again for fun and was able to design a Bordeaux Metallic body with Tort pickguard, an American Original 9.5” radius Rosewood fretboard neck with vintage tuners, and Pure Vintage ‘65 Jazzmaster pickups. $1800 plus tax and shipping.
It looks pretty awesome to me. I’m going to have to dream about this one for a while.

Has anyone actually bought one yet? How’s the quality? Any better than the average American Professional?

If you want a brand new Am-pro with a factory custom color and PV65 pickups, can you really do much better than this? The pickups alone are about a hundred, a decent metallic finish can't be that cheap either.NewKId wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:09 pmI just tried the Mod Shop again for fun and was able to design a Bordeaux Metallic body with Tort pickguard, an American Original 9.5” radius Rosewood fretboard neck with vintage tuners, and Pure Vintage ‘65 Jazzmaster pickups. $1800 plus tax and shipping.

Is it even possible to order one outside of the US? Not that I have the money to buy but I couldn’t even see a price or a buy/add to basket button once I’d done a quick “design”.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
I agree. You can't get vintage-style tuners on the Mod Shop Tele or Strat so that's another bonus with the Jazzmaster. Also, the available American Original neck has a bound fretboard (I prefer without). So, I actualy think this is a fair price for a custom-color AmPro Jazzmaster.
My only concern is potentially getting a very heavy guitar so that might stop me on this.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
The previous weekend I was thinking maybe I'm getting bored with Jazzmasters, so I was playing a weird Tele with humbuckers, and it was okay. Then during the week this thing showed up on my doorstep, and it's fantastic.

Butterscotch blonde, ash body, with the '65 pickups, 8.3lbs. It's got the narrower bridge now, too. Oddly it has a US17~ serial number - they must have set aside a stash of necks for the Mod Shop and haven't sold many yet.

All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Not my style, but it looks good. I noticed that they are now also offering to string the guitars with 10s and not just 9s.

Looks amazing! IMO it would look better with a spitfire tort guard, but that suggestion probably won't shock anyone.tammyw wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2019 5:30 pmThe previous weekend I was thinking maybe I'm getting bored with Jazzmasters, so I was playing a weird Tele with humbuckers, and it was okay.
