In tracking mine down (still not here yet... Tomorrow apparently) I spoke to 5 stores all of whom were consistent with one fact: They had been told by their fender rep that there would be no more for orders and would I like to be put on the wait list? I think that CME might have had an idea that these would go like hotcakes, but I also heard a lot of "Wow, we had no idea that these would be so popular, we have taken xxx calls already about it". So I think that the total number may be in doubt it seems that the message is that you cant order any more.

RE: Fender website - They put a lot of stuff on the website that falls into the limited run category, the wildwood stuff comes to mind.

Nice little interview with Johnny Marr yesterday at Maida Vale. There are some close-ups of his Sherwood Jag. It looks like it's got alot of chips though.
Thought it might be of interest to those who are worried about the thickness of the coat.

The sheer beauty of the guitar has made me not care about the finish. It's just too damn nice to ignore.

I will just have to be careful.

I watched those interviews early this AM. Does anyone know how he gets those 'doubled' sounds with a guitar behind it slightly 'out of tune' as he mentions? Is that a form of Chorus?

Every interview with johnny I see makes me respect him more...what a dude.

That jag is sooo nice too.

He looks so natural playing the guitar, makes it look so easy....

Very envious :)

Mine shipped out yesterday. So should be about a week to get here. Till then it's oven mittens and ear protection.
Lovin the pics and the video of this guitar. Love how different they all look...really gotta see that Sherwood Green in the flesh to get the full impact though.
I prefer the darker look with a glimmer of metallic...which seems hard to capture on a camera. One of those pics has a real lean towards blue. Very cool.

That new strymon deco pedal can do double tracking, add a bit of wobble in and that should do the detune effect..

That's a great link. Thanks. He is always interesting.

Also interesting that his Johnny Marr Jaguar doesn't have his signature.

Mine arrived today, too! :) Unfortunately it'll be about six weeks before I can play it. In the meantime, it'll just be sitting in the box... :fp:

He was on in session on BBC radio 2 on Friday, and his Jag got a mention (he was playing the sherwood). He explained its his signature guitar, but he removes the signature from his guitars as that would be too vain for him to be going about with his own signature on his guitars. Too true, respect to that.

Annndd... Its in the door.

Crappy cell pick next to the Ko:

The finish really changes depending on the light, blue green to dark sherwood. Initial impressions: Nice weight, not a featherweight but nice, fit and finish is great, neck feels slightly rolled. Set up was spot on. Tuners are a little tight and probably need to be lubricated. Pickups and switches are smooth and silent, no buzz or hiss, so basically just as great as I expected it to be.

Hi all, I'm in.

The finish certainly does change colour depending on the lighting. It's a lush guitar.

Apologies for the grainy iPhotos.

Rich.

Yeah, all of Johnny's signature Jags that he uses on stage have the signature removed and the bridges changed. The guitars also have a light relic finish but it doesn't take long for Johnny to bash 'em up a bit more. His Sherwood Green is getting nicely worn in now he's been playing a lot more. It was used as a spare on the latter part of The Messenger Tour. That was also the first one that Fender made in that colour and was custom ordered before Fender did the limited run.

Interesting - what bridge does Johnny change to? A regular Staytrem ? Why would he change from a bridge he had a lot of input into?
