Bass VI question
I have never used or even seen a bass VI but my question is, when playing one are the strings thick enogh to play it with your fingers like a normal bass or do people usually use a pick?

Re: Bass VI question
I've seen people play them with their fingers. I had a MIJ model and my friend played it on a recording session, using his fingers. But... he's a small guy with small hands. So I think it depends on your physical size...

Re: Bass VI question
Played many a gig as 'straight bass' with the VI.
Standard finger picking - no problem.
Most difficult technique on the VI is Thumping & Popping commonly known as Slap.
Strings are too close, but definitely do-able.
If you have thick fingers it could be weird.

Re: Bass VI question
I like to do it both ways. Fingers and picking, that is.
