i live in the city, albeit a nice part of the city, if I tried that i suspect i'd have approximately zero guitars within days. probably need a new t.v.and record collection  as well

They are insured, plus they'd have to get past my 280 lb ass and my .45.

Both those guitars are CIJs... I love 'em to death.  Though the IBMs are beautiful, those 2 CIJs are the 2nd and 3rd most played in my collection.

The piece is a Kimber Stainless II 1911, built in Yonkers, NY.

yeah, my 85/86 MIJ 62 RI tele is awesome too, as is my 87 MIJ Squier maple tele neck, as is my allparts neck, as is... wait! i just realized something here.

You can't be home all the time. A friend of mine, Ken, recently had his home broken into while he was at work: goodbye Telecaster and Ibanez. Nice ones, too.

It's all very well to fantasise about dismembering junkie burglars, and as I said to Ken, I'd happily help him do it if it was possible... but in the real world, those guitars were probably exchanged for enough smack to (hopefully) OD the scumbag that stole them before Ken even knew they were gone. I had to talk to him for two hours on the day it happened to try to calm him down and help him through his loss.

Well, I kept an eye on internet listings and Ken did as much as he could in contacting the pawnshops, etc - but those guitars are gone. It's been a couple of months now, they're long gone. So Ken works extra hours to pay for his smashed window and to pay back the cost of a camera he'd borrowed from his employers which was also taken.

So be careful, don't flash your cool stuff around - you never know who's passing by and who they might talk to.

That is always the best practice, very true.  My back yard is pretty secluded, so I'm not too worried.  You guys are making me worry a little, though.
