Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
This just opened up big stuff for the Am. Pro JM - tons of color options plus neck combos, pickups, tuners, etc. Hopefully the Jag will come soon.

That's just wonderful.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

& the only neck option is 9.5 radius & no matching headstock. It is a step in the right direction though.marqueemoon wrote:9 is the default string gauge.
We are merely moving shadows.

So does this mean one could purchase an AmPro Jazzmaster in Ocean Turquoise with rosewood 9.5 fretboard and AV65 pickups for $1799?

You can get a Daphne blue in that configuration, with a black pickguard.
That's just not bad. I'm going to tip my hat to Fender, I really am.

I feel like they realize that putting vintage radius, matched headstock guitars in the mod shop would all but destroy the market for AV65's.smallerthings wrote:No matching headstock?

This is great news. Is it wrong to get a Summer paper route for a man in his 40s in the fall?

Looks like they come with the tone control turned fully up. I only play with the tone at 9 o'clock. Dealbreaker.marqueemoon wrote:9 is the default string gauge.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
More options is great, but you still can't order a vintage-spec model in all the classic fender colors. I refuse to believe it would cost that much extra to have some unfinished guitars on the side to be sprayed in shell pink, CFM, sherwood green, etc. on a made-to-order basis. Fully manufactured guitar- not a whole custom shop deal- just adding paint and your choice of pickguard. Is there any other reason for not doing that besides that it cuts into their expensive custom shop sales?

I believe they are a profit oriented company. Makes sense to have some strategy where they make more money as opposed to another one where they make less.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
I know they aren't UNICEF but offering official Fender gear with classic options could draw people back who've gone to warmoth, MJT, musikraft, usacg, etc.
Those other companies might offer lower prices than Fender, but they also offer more choices. If Fender went just a little further with the mod shop thing, they could probably make profit by getting back some of the people who want a vintage-style mustang or a CFM jazzmaster with matching headstock. I'm just saying just a few more options wouldn't wreck the custom shop if people believe the custom shop is about more than aesthetics and choice of fretboard radius.
