There is a band that I love from Osaka called DMBQ. The guitarist plays this strange looking Fender offset that is a mix of a Jaguar/Jazzmaster with a racing stripe, dual humbuckers, a Strat-style bridge and tremolo, and the headstock (though not pictured) is a Strat-style headstock that says "Fender". I can not read what it says under that because it's too small. I feel like I have seen this guitar somewhere before many many years ago, but I have never seen it in recent years. If anyone knows what kind of Fender this is, please let me know. I am very curious. I found one good picture of the guitar from a recent show on twitter.

That's a possibility. He has some small toggle switches in between the volume and tone knobs.
The guitar sounds great and he really abuses the hell out of the whammy/tremolo and it stays in tune perfectly.

That's definitely (like you said) a Fernandez with a Fender neck. He definitely modified it as well.
