Sadly my perpetual nagging for a Jag-stang is still falling on deaf ears.
I think Fender/Squier have re-issued almost everything but a Jag-stang since this thread was first posted.
I saw that a few years ago (I think when the American pro / ultra / something all leaked as well) and got very excited. Then the Powercaster, tucked away in the corner of that photo for released many moons later and my hopes raised again, but still nothing.Ceylon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 11:37 pmOne of those factory tour videos in which I also think you could see the Powercaster before it was ever announced (although I might be mixing two separate videos up) did show what looked like a new Jag-Stang, so they might just be waiting for the right moment to release that.
I don’t even know if I’m joking. Although I doubt they will ever tool up for the og Bronco vibrato.
Lets compile the predictions, other than the fender xii

[*]More "vintage correct" stuff in MIM price range[/list]
Realistically:
- Continued phase out of signature models, maybe more offsets in the squier bullet price range.
- More jazzmasters that are basically strats and teles with jazzmaster shaped bodies.
Hope youre not keeping your word on this one chief
this but acoustichiggsblossom wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 10:53 amModernization would mean to build a Fender digital offset that would resemble a Line6 Variax but offer all the Fender possibilities in one single guitar. That would actually be something that would, if it’s done with the necessary sincerity, be interesting to me.
edwardskim wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 12:20 pm- Release three new colors for the VM Jag Line
All an extra $100 or something and in a reasonable limited quantity
- Add a MIM line revamping the Classic Player Line for Jaguars
$899-$999 for a MIM Classic Player with :
Mustang Bridge
65 AVRI Pups
Maybe one or two new colors besides Oly White and Sunburst
The CV jazzmaster got more than three colors at this point, and the second wish just lacks the mustang bridge

For Christ sake even some new colors, for the VM line would be dope.
lol. bullet mustangs got comp paint jobs, also kind of closemackerelmint wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 3:42 pmCVs and new colors would be a dream come true, but I'm not holding my breath.

- Telemaster at MIM or Squier price point.
- Usual gripe: more colours! Why not just have sunburst / something else as standard, then do one custom colour option for all Squier models made in a given month /6 months / year?
thatfenderguy wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 5:44 amI would love to see a Vintage Modified Starcaster. Maybe a reissue of the Toronado, as well.
was this before the 60th anniversary? i guess the new van leeuwen and the squier jags count.
bizarre vintage incorrect fender reissue instead
fender japan, but closethecolorwaves wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 10:15 amA Squier Swinger would be neat. I know it's very marmite, but I could see them being quite popular this time around.
all they got was a jazzmaster sadlyarmyofbees wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 2:05 pmlefties have been clamoring for a lefty Squier offset offering.. really anything would be great, but the VM mustang would be awesome!
this is what i would like most, just a retooled bullet mustang with the musicmaster pickguard in those vista colors with a matched headstock. just 1 humbucker, volume and coil split. i could even live with a toploader if it was priced the same as the FSR bullets.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 10:02 pmIt would be cool if they reissued an affinity version of the Vista Musicmaster. It would be pretty cheap and easy for them to do.
Remember the squier 51? Everyone LOVED that thing. I had 3 of them. It performed so well they discontinued it and fender released one the next year that cost 1000 more. And it flopped.pscates wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 1:54 pm
It almost makes more sense for Squier to be doing the weirdo Alternate/Parallel Universe stuff than Fender, IMO. Squier could be Fender's "we'll try anything, and, at ~$400, if it craps the bed, the world isn't gonna end" little testing farm. I like a lot of Squier designs I've seen over the years when they're doing their own thing and not trying to put out their 627th version of a Strat or Tele.
