Any new colors/options announced for the AVRI Jazzmasters / Jaguars for 2007?
This was asked in another forum. In light of the recent action by FMIC to block Japanese models from shipping to the USA, I’m also interested to know if new colors or options are being offered.
Anyone hear anything?

I dunno, but I'm out of the loop on new stuff.
When does the Frontline typically come out?

3rd week or so in January. I predict no changes for offsets, except maybe changing the name of that jaguar britone bass six thign again.
I prefer their older stuff.

But then it wouldn't necessarily be a 62 reissue.
66 reissue should be out!

(thank you!)
FMIC typically unveils the new year's products late in December (stuff trickles out) for the January NAMM debut. I'm still debating whether I'm going to Anaheim again this year - it is a really good time, but things are tres busy these days for me...

Re: Any new colors/options announced for the AVRI Jazzmasters / Jaguars for 2007
i had an AVRI Sherwood green. Hated it. Nice color, but the finish was thick and the neck didn't feel right. That was my one and only AVRI experience, maybe it was a lemon.
I'd like Fender to at least try to get some in stores, regardless of color. I can't remeber the last time I saw a new offset for sale in a guitar store. They're not in the Musicians friend catalog either.

Re: Any new colors/options announced for the AVRI Jazzmasters / Jaguars for 2007
I think the problem is that a lot of guitar stores have problems with shifting offsets, especially AVRI's - no matter how much we love them, they are definitely a niche fender.
A new guitar shop opened in September 2004 in belfast, and it was the first shop to carry lots of good fenders, gibsons, PRS's etc. etc. The owner has a lovely all-original '62 Jag, and so he ordered in two AVRI's for the shop opening - an OT Jazz, and a Surf green Jag - they were both there until may of this year (when I got the Jazz), and the Jag will probably be there until I buy it. I think I may be one of the only guys in belfast with an AVRI jazz - certainly the only guy on the gigging circuit, anyway.
In this time, many MIJ's have passed through the doors, shifting in a matter of days or weeks. It's all to do with the AVRI's higher price point.

I also think that the majority of guitarists, think of Jags and JMs as second or third guitars to their main axes, which are usualy strats, teles or les pauls...so the AV price is REALLY high
I'm the only person I know of that actually uses a Jazzmaster as a main (and only) guitar

I know lot's of local guitarists (myself included) who play offsets as their first guitars. Course I know a bunch of surf players.
