Here's a look under the pickguard of the new Jag. Also a short demo of what they sound like with half rounds.

re that video, his issue is wobble on the high E saddle with 9s or 10s, not enough string tension/break angle. Doesn't sound like 'the mistake Fender made with this bridge' as it needs a neck shim and the bridge raised a bit. Pretty standard for offsets, innit?

That guy drives me up the wall. I've never seen a single one of his videos where a guitar is actually in tune.

With the resurgence of Offsets it seems like we're also seeing a resurgence of people who don't know what to do with them.

Can anyone comment on:

1) the thickness of the necks on these 2) any issues with the bridge?

I know someone posted a 16 minute (!) video complaining about the bridge, but what is the issue?

he didn't shim te neck and complained about a spring instead. also he's pretty bad at playing guitar (even compared to me), and even worse at editing.

Can’t wait for the white guy with dreadlocks Anderton’s video where his Eddie Hascal ass sidekick talks shit the whole time about how he wishes he was holding a Strat and completely shows his ass on how little he knows about the instruments’ history.

I've had mine a few weeks now and the neck is chunker than my old AVRI but by no means a 'fat' neck, I actually prefer it shapewise to my AVRI.

I've had zero issues with the bridge either, if someone had told me it was a StayTrem, I wouldn't have actually noticed that it wasn't unless I inspected it closely.

The neck came shimmed from the factory but the bridge still had to be decked in order for it to be playable, so I whacked a couple more shims in there and it plays great now. Annoyingly the neck joint was so tight that I chipped the paint when I took the neck off, but I can't fault squier for that.

Overall its a great guitar, fairly heavy but then all the jags I've had have been and as an ex-AVRI owner it had a lot to live up to, but I'm really chuffed with it.

Any questions let me know

I always buy used, but this Jag was my first new guitar, straight out of the box. When I went to the store and opened it up I showed the store guy some minor scratches on the chrome. He took $60 bucks off.

I dropped it off straight away to my guitar repair guy and he filed the nut, installed 11s, and shimmed and adjusted everything. It plays nice, feels good, sounds great and cost very little money.

It feels like I got away with the treasure. Thanks, Indonesia!

I got one of the black ones a few weeks ago. Overall, very impressed with it.

The neck thickness is very comfortable. I'm extremely sensitive to thick/chunky necks (I have small Trump hands), but this neck is very comfortable. Not as slim as 90's MIJ Jag/Mustang necks, but not anywhere near as thick as the modern American Professional offsets.

The bridge is fantastic. It makes me angry that I've spent so much money over the years on Mastery, StayTrem and recently the Marr/AmPro bridges. The saddles are thick, it doesn't buzz, and feels great. If I had to find one gripe with the bridge, it would be that I wish the saddle grooves were a tiny bit deeper - but that's only if I'm truly digging for a criticism. Overall, its an amazing bridge.

Overall thought - I've gone through more Jaguars than I can count (AVRI's, Pre-CBS, CBS,MIJ/CIJ, etc) because I love how they look and how comfortable they are but yet I always have complaints on Jaguars. This is the first Jaguar that I've had where I'm not mad at it. The price helps alleviates my woes with short scale Fenders (lack of sustain and clucky quacky treble strings). These look fantastic, and the stock hardware/electronics are"good enough" where I'm in no rush to swap parts. Full disclosure, I did swap out the trem for a Mastery trem but that was unnecessary. Aside from all the positive notes, I may still not keep it but that's only because I'm struggling with getting the sound I want with short scale guitars. Me contemplating not keeping it has nothing to do with quality, etc. It's a great Jaguar and I wish we have had this level of quality at this price way earlier!

I really love the look of these things. I hope to try one out sometime if my local store gets them in stock

Did this guy say anything correct about this guitar?

Did he say the problem with the high E was that it was not sitting on the back of the bridge, so it was able to "ring out freely"?

Did I hear that correct?
