I have heard that the other CVs have had relatively thinner necks. But if somehow the neck on this thing is chunky enough for me, holy balls I will be buying one. A Jag with binding and blocks? Good lord.
The ICS serial number and text on the stock photo suggest this is the first Indonesian Classic Vibe (check check). This gives me hope, because there are some big necks on certain VM Jags. My VM Mustang neck is pretty much a baseball bat.
You know my VM Jag has a baseball bat neck.... :)
I've seen your measurements in the Squier Talk Offset forum; that VM Mustang is probably too much for me. Most of the guitars I've played have a sweet spot for me at the 12th fret between about .93" and .98" (I care a bit less at lower frets), but it depends on the overall profile and shoulders. I have the VM Jag, it's close to yours and it works pretty good for me. Anything over an inch starts to be less functional for me.

All the new models are now up on Fender's site:
https://shop.fender.com/en-US/namm/

It really looks more and more like the CVs are just replacing VMs.

No B&B necks for the Jazzmaster, what a misser!

And yes, the new MiM-necks have blocks, but they're hideous and the wrong size. Come on Fender... next year? Please!

I know man, so close. What a bummer they don't have Blocks and Binding like the Jag.

It's interesting that Fender decided to use the ugliest ebony fretboard in the world for the render of the American Elite Strat.

I'm guessing because the CV Jazzy is a "60s" tribute and the Jag is a "70s" one?

I like the 'burst.

But I just know I'd Mastery it up with the bridge and trem, put Duncan or Novak PUPs in, swap pots and caps, and get a Spitfire 'guard. :fp:

You know, like I did with my Squier Strat...

Hey, I kept the Tonerider pickups at least! They're great.

I really like how they all have the mustang style bridge instead of the traditional jaguar bridge.

Oh man. Yesterday I only saw the Black one and was already rethinking my vow not to buy any new black guitar (I already got western guitar, an Epiphone Classic Les Paul and a Hagström Viking all in Black with creme bindings)

...now that I see all three colours - I should do the contrary and expand that vow to not to buy any new (Sun-)Burst guitars either (Gibson Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute (well that is at least a honey burst), Fender Japan Thinline special and Eastwood Sidejack)

so the Surf Green model looks like my way to go! I'd hope so much that the second black anodized aluminium pickguard gdayi made for my Japanese Jaguar could also be made to fit that Squier. Would look absolutely killer!
Man, at this price point I don't even mind that the Block Inlays are too small...

Curious to play one!

Can't wait to try one of these out..

My VM Jag has a seriously chunky neck, but my two CV Teles have pretty thin necks (especially the CV Custom), so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the neck on the CV 70's Jag is like..

Still weird that they didn't do new Jarman guitars, knowing the huge potential!
But it's good to keep the bunny in the hat and pull it out when there's nothing more to do... :P That'll be a joker anytime.

They just outdid themselves this year.

I'm back to my Squier love 110%! :-*

I understand that everything must come in sunburst. The black is a cool addition. If I was in the market for another Squier Jag, I'd be getting a black one. I'm really disappointed that they kept the surf green though. I don't recall ever seeing a 70s Fender with surf green paint. It doesn't make any sense and it's an overrated color.
