Yeah, those inlay shapes bother me a whole hell of a lot less when in the company of that Thin Skin - looks seriously, seriously awesome. I gotta get a good looking tort for my white AV65, just looks so cool.

I dig it. I would want a mint guard on it though.

Yes I was wondering that too, I’d like to see one ...I might get one and swap in another guard.

Found a video with some great opening shots of Troy using what I assume is the original one, definitely looks like Aztec Gold. Ignore the bad drunken Josh singing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTsh2lISNC4

The bassist has a matching Jazz Bass, that I really like. It is a nice combo for a JB.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:42 amFound a video with some great opening shots of Troy using what I assume is the original one, definitely looks like Aztec Gold. Josh Homme is a master of using sour notes in the right places when soloing.

Noticed the matchy-matchyness, you don't see many gold Jazz basses.BoringPostcards wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 7:12 amThe bassist has a matching Jazz Bass, that I really like. Josh's choices of phrasings has always been excellent, perfect counterpoint to Troy's ambient stuff.

It seems the rosewood one posted earlier won't be released, instead it's this maple boarded one.
Also the text states "7.25” radius Pau Ferro or maple fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets" but if you choose the Oxblood finish on the right side menu it says rosewood, but still Pau Ferro in the specs. Either this new Copper Age finish is available in both maple and Pau Ferro, or the original Oxblood with the rosewood board has now been replaced with a Pau Ferro fretboard.
Anyways, where the hell is the USA J Mascis signature I've been dreaming of since the Johnny Marr was released?

This is really cool. But I liked the rosewood one a lot more.

I wonder how it will look with a gold anodised pick guard

I’m with you on that. I ended up trading mine for a Rivolta Combinata which seemed just too cool. The TVL was an awesome guitar but as time passed I felt like it got uglier and uglier the more I looked at it. It was just too dark and monochromatic. The thick, plasticity finish didn’t do it any favors.alexpigment wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 10:59 amMaybe I'm weird here. I think the gold one looks great. It also has more color contrast than the original. I just thought it was overall too dark and maroon (a mint guard would have helped).
