That's my CP JM that I had refinished by Stike/Rowyko Kustoms. I'm actually currently converting it into a 12 string & I'm waiting on him to finish a Musikraft neck that I bought with a matching headstock.
The version he did was a color called Mariners Turquoise & then sprayed the burst with what I think was called Candy Purple. The comp stripe is Daphne & the whole thing had a slight aged clear coat. Not a 100% faithful recreation of the original (not a whole lot of information I've found), but what we thought would be a cool approximation of how it may have looked brand new.
Think it turned out really nice! Will you be posting more pics?
Thanks! I definitely will when the project is done. I sent the new 12 string neck to be refinished in January but I haven't heard anything & I saw that he's in the process of building a new shop space, so I don't really know when I'll get it back (unfortunately). But the new neck has binding, pearloid dots & will have a matching headstock.

Here's another Firemist Silver (by Rexter)
There's an almost green-ish hue to it that's hard to capture in a photograph

This might be the most beautiful Jazzmaster I’ve ever seen. :? :-*

Had to bump this thread, which definitely did not help with GAS and influenced my choices. I may post a NGD later, but with the arrival of my new (to me) 2020 MIJ Traditional 60s JM, I feel very fortunate to have all the Fender blues that I want (for now!). From what I’ve read, this OTM might be on the greener side compared to the OTM on the AO.

Lovely lineup

I can't say that the lack of matching headstock on the Mustang isn't making my eye twitch a little though :D

They all look pretty sick.

While we're here I'll repost this from earlier in the year, not sure why I didn't put it in this thread where it belongs!

Missing from the photo is a new skyburst Jaguar.

This 85 Fender Japan Tele is Sonic Blue, a fine example I think

I really like it actually, it’s the cheap end of the line (TL43) but it plays so well. Someone called the colour Marlboro Gold so I’m going with that. It’s completely clean and has no smell, just played nearly to death.

Finally, any fans of Cerulean Blue? It’s an absolutely amazing colour. I saw one of these Strats in my local shop a couple of years ago and it was even more beautiful in real life:

Image
That Cerulean Blue was part of an FSR Classic Series 50s 60s Strat run for Guitar Center in 2015. That blue (and the series' Apple Green) excite my retinas no end. If I ever walk into a shop and find one of these it's mine, credit card balance be damned.

Image

My GC had the lavender one and the yellow one. I think it was called canary. The lavender was so pale in real life it looked almost eggshell white. Beautiful guitar 💜

It’s definitely quite unique and if it plays well and sounds good, who could ask for more? „Marlboro Gold“ seems apt. „Smoker‘s Delight“

My fondness for one side of the color wheel has made it so each Strat I've owned in the past 17 years has been blue. Lake Placid Blue, Sonic Blue, Agave Blue, and my current partscaster in Tropical Turquoise. Life's funny.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

so i want to add something about sonic blue. i've noticed a big difference between sonic blue's over the years. i tried a sonic blue squier jaguar but it didn't look sonic blue at all. looked closer to surf green in my eyes. like someone took a picture of sonic blue then turned up the saturation.
