What kind of guitar do you play right now? Jags are 24" scale, so the tension is a lot lower for any given scale length than other Fenders at 25.5". They'll still be lower tension than Gibsons at 24.75", but not as dramatically so.ElectricZombie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 1:14 pmLooks like I might just have to use heavier gauge strings if I want a Jaguar.
I'll have to experiment with heavier strings to see if I can even play them.
If you have a 25.5" scale guitar, realize that "auditioning" 10-gauge strings will feel totally different than they do on a Jag.
Also, for the record, I own 6 jaguars and every single one of them is strung with 10-46 strings. I don't believe that they "have" to be strung any higher than that, but ive never tried to push lower than that (mostly because I really love 10's on jags and see no reason to go lower).
